HIV Test and PEP

Featured Replies

Had unprotected sex last night with a person who claims to be HIV- (not with a local...), but I am still feeling ill about it. and I am going to go get tested tomorrow. The problem is I leave the country tomorrow and don't return for a week. Do hospitals provide the PEP drug prescription? Can I visit a hospital early enough in the morning and get the test?

I just need some information to ease my mind.

Thank you...

Would be easier to have your partner tested than eat a run of PEP meds. That is really hard on your body.

Try RAM or one of the other big hospitals.

Good luck.

May I suggest you contact

Mainly set up to help Thai kids orphaned by HIV/AIDS the two retired Drs. Dr Prakorn and her husband Dr Virachai are most supportive people.

I have helped raise money for them for several years and I know you will receive a helpful welcome.

We were both tested today and everything is fine. Thanks for the concern everyone.

Well that's good news......

Now I don't want to put a downer on it... And maybe medical advances are upto top speed but when I had a test for HIV I was advised that the virus lays dormant or maybe cannot be detected for something like 8 weeks.

So basically you are not out of the woods until you are tested again in february.

As I say I may not be up on the latest...hope I am wrong

I am by no means an expert but, I heard it can lay dormant for up to 5 years!

Further more. Put a umbrella on it in the future for Christ sake. Note: a god one!
