Hi all BM.s

I live in Pattaya. But I'm trying to help a couple of friends coming to Phuket for the first time next week. They have booked a hotel beetween Patomg and Karon Beach. How much are they supposed to pay for the taxi from the airport ?

ca. 600 Bt + 100 Bt airport surcharge

Public Taxi Service
A metered taxi stand is located outside of the Phuket airport main terminal building
of the far right as you exit the terminal.

The average fares from Phuket airport are; Phuket Town 400 baht, Patong 550 baht,
Kata/Karon 600 baht plus a 100 baht airport surcharge. The trip will usually take approximately 30 minutes to Phuket, 40 minutes to Patong Beach, and around one hour to Kata/Karon.

NOTE: Phuket airport metered taxis have limited space for luggage. If you have
large and bulky luggage and more than 2 passengers consider a limousine or minibus transfer.

Tell them to find the meter taxi stand. Turn right from domestic arrivals door, walk a short 20m. Ignore all the touts yelling and waving for your attention. Should cost something like 100 baht for airport charge and 500 - 600 baht meter charge.

Yes still turn right, little bit longer walk, maybe 50 m (couple of minutes more)

I disagree that the 50m walk should take a couple of minutes or more..

Perhaps if you have 3-4 big bags... Or, you are carrying a large amount of extra weight... That might make sense..

For the average person though, the walk should take about 30-40 seconds... Any longer and you have gone too far smile.png

Tell them to go to the limo counter and book a limo for around 650 baht to Patong,it's what I always do.

"650 baht to Patong, it's what I always do" - it would appear you haven't done it for a while.

Yes, I think he'll find the limo service a bit more expensive these days.

Last I heard, the "limo" was 1300 baht, and that was before the latest round of price rises.
