Travel To Koh Samui

Featured Replies

Hi I am planning a trip to koh samui from redang in malaysia

Whats the best way and how to travel from redang to koh samui beside from taking a flight?

get to Surat via bus then ferry?

There is no flight to Samui from anywhere near where you are.

Bus (and obviously boat) appears to be the only option

Yeah, same here, I'll have to go to Bkk to get a flight to Samui.

My wife and I have just booked tickets from U Tapao, but you will need to look into it a little harder as sbk says you cannot get straight to Samui from where you are...

sbk, is it true Bangkokair are the only carrier that can land on Samui?

well seems like I will skip redang and travel straight from singapore to samui.

I also want to find out if bangkok air is the only airline that lands in samui?

can I fly to any other airport nearby and take a bus to surat then ferry over?

I was told that Bangkok Airways actually own the airport so they don't let any other airline fly there. I know they do fly to Samui from Singapore, Phuket, Bangkok and HK. There may also be other flights, I think their website is bangkokairways.com if you want to check

What about flights to Surat?

Thai, Airasia and 12go fly to Surat Thani from Bangkok. Believe that is the only other option. Nobody, as far as I know, flies to Surat from out of the country. Hat Yai and Phuket, but not Surat Thani direct.

I could be wrong as I haven't checked those airlines lately but they are the only ones flying into Surat Thani.

Bangkok Air is the only airline flying into Samui, if you are flying from Bangkok you can get a cheaper flight (2000) at 6 am and 10pm. But remember one thing, when you fly out of Samui they hit you with a 400 baht (or 500?) "departure tax". :o
