Blood Test Facility in Chiangmai

Featured Replies

Can anyone advise where in Chiangmai would be a reliable and decent place where one can do a medical checkup and blood test.

Nothing in particular, just the regular annual screening. Normal cardiac profile, cholesterol level, glucose etc.

What would one expect to pay for such a checkup?

Thank you in advance for any pointers.

my General Practitioner does it for me. she is much more capable of reading the results and interpreting them and if some thing is off doing some thing about it.

Of course I have had no medical training so that seems to be the way to go.

The only thing I will check is my INA for the Befarin I take. There used to be a place by the Siraphat hospital for 90 baht and they would call you with the results in a couple of hours. Went looking for them and they had moved don't know where. As it is I have my Doctor check it every month. Went with a friend who had been there before wound up going to the Ram for 297 baht. My doctor charges less than that.

The clinic on La Kroh has a laboratory in it. just get there early as he does get a good size crowd waiting to get in.

McCormick Hospital will check you out thoroughly and well for a very reasonable price. Good people.

Siriphat Hospital 13 floor

Cost around 5 / 5K - Go there around 8am, you will have the result / medical and be out around 1130hrs

Medical is a fixed set of test etc, full blood, x-ray, EKG and postrate

hellodolly is referring to the CMU Medical Technology Lab ("theknik kanphaet"). it is now located 100 meters further in (same road), and is more spacious, more blood technicians, better queing syste, and same reasonable prices.

Thanks guys. That is a lot of good information. Might give Rajavej a try.

Thanks for the information.

In the past I have used Lanna Labs on Mahidol highway. Walk in, tell them what you want, the phlebotomist will draw a blood sample, you pay 125 Baht per requested test (cost at that time) and you return the next day for results. Easy in/out good parking.

How to find Lanna Labs. Starting At the Ping river bridge going West towards Airport Plaza, go about 2 kilometers slowly looking left until you see a dome shaped building next to the highway, turn left just after. Stop, Look up and see the sign on the side of the bldg. LANNA LABS

I have used CM Ram lab since 2002 also and find their results very close. I am not sure Ram will test you if you do not have a Doctor on staff or have been a patient there with an existing file.

Dr. Tawatchai at the Loi Kroh clinic, Loi Kroh Rd., is one of the best GP's in Chiang Mai. I believe he's been recommended before in this Forum. His office is very busy so you might have to wait awhile.
