You see infernalman is struggling to find 3 against.

A city can never be boring...that's upto you to make the most of what you have....find a mate as well.

Traffic jams when....the normal 2hr evening rush hour in every working town and city in the world.

Air quality, ok its not great for a month but is not LA, shanghai or chernobyl.

Admit it your "fors" we're easy.

1. The forest-covered mountains all within easy reach.

2. The cooler cool and drier dry seasons.

3. The great open roads for biking.

1. The annual carcinogenic smog.

2. The now fairly high rents for apartments and condos and houses.

3. The traffic in the city.

For: 1. Northern Thailand has its unique Lanna culture, and Chiang Mai seems to be the centre of this northern Thailand culture.

2. Low cost of living compared to other "large" cities in Thailand.

3. The weather's great from Dec - mid Feb or so.

Against: 1. The air pollution in March and April.

2. Not near a beach.

3. I can't think of a # 3.

Just like anywhere else, Chiang Mai is what you make of it. I think it's wonderful, others have different opinions.

Hope this helps. wai2.gif

This hand holding gets tiresome after awhile.

They all have the one thing in common.

They never tell you what price range or any of their interests just where should I go. Or what is good about it.

What I call good they may call bad.

Forget who it was but we did have one who was right up front about what he wanted. Several areas named a price for housing and most important a good internet connection. He then proceeded to give a list of things he would like but were not necessary. All in all a serious seeker.
