Logitech Keyboard driving me bonkers!

Featured Replies

I have a remote Logitech keyboard on that other computer. Somehow the play music key must be stuck and it opens winamp every other second. Makes it almost impossible to do anything with this computer as even if you try to ignore winamp it refocuses on winamp and whatever you type or click.. *bang* you're back in winamp.

Took the batteries out and this behaviour stops, so it must be a keyboard thing.

Any idea how to disable this key?

Place a screwdriver over the key in question, hit it hard with a hammer....that should achieve something but could go either way.

Did you try replacing the batteries? Sometimes strange things happen on wireless keyboards when batteries are low.

Good advice.

If that doesn't help try spray the key board with electro clean or something similar.

Well at least key boards are very cheap, I also had a wireless that packed up. Then I found a HP wired key board in my office in house from when I bought my HP desk top pc. The nice thing about this key board is that it got a -+ volume control so I use that now.

I read somewhere that key board are filled with bacteria and needs a good clean once a week or so.

If I recall correctly, the Logitech "Setpoint" software (free) allows you to disable a key on the keyboard.

That method will definitely achieve something!

Since OP prolly needs a new keyboard anywat, may as well do some experimenting with a hammer.

open the keyboard, take out the foil, clean it & replace it.
