My G/F has problems re-newing her passport, apparently the ubon office has closed due to political situation,we are heading to vietnam in late march, her passport expires 07/14, can she do the trip with return ticket?I beleive authorities require 6 month valid passport. I trying to advise from Australia,

any suggestions?

Vietnam requires 6 months passport validity.

All provincial passport office are unable to process applications.

It takes less than a week to get a passport so you have some time to get it. Just keep an eye on the news to see if the government complex is able to work.

Looks like things are easing.

By the way if you are going to Vietnam for less that 30 days then your Thai girlfriend does not need a visa.

same problem here...thai national, visit under 30 days, no visa required...but passport expiring in less than 6 months...would this be a problem?

thx.

It used to be three months for a Thai so I'd appreciate if anyone can confirm it's changed?
