February 9, 201412 yr Hi After being here a few years I am making my 1st trip out & have obtained my re-entry permit. I would like to ask about the usage. Meaning what should I watch for to be sure things are done/stamped correctly so as to not jeopardize my extension of stay. I just renewed it ( yearly extension to stay ) & will be back long before it is expired as my trip is only a few weeks. Also just to double check but the 90 day clock is reset upon my return correct? I ask because my next 90 day report is due right when i return or possibly a few days before. I ignore that correct? Just starting a new 90 day clock upon re-entry correct? Thank You for any help given.
February 9, 201412 yr Just make sure you have the re-entry permit before you leave the country. When returning, fill in the number of the re-entry permit on the arrival card where they ask for the visa number. (you could write re-entry next to it). before leaving immigration you check if they gave you a permission to stay matching your current permission to stay. Your 90 day clock is reset to 1, and start ticking again when you enter the country.
February 9, 201412 yr When you return be sure you put your re-entry permit number on your arrival card in the space for the visa number. Then check that they put the correct date on your entry stamp. The 90 day count ends on the day you leave and starts again when you re-enter the country. Your 90 day report will be 90 days after you date of entry including that date.
February 9, 201412 yr Author Thank you both for your replies. Yes I have the re-entry permit already So I will enter that number on my arrival card upon returning & will write "re-entry" next to it ( good idea!) Ubon when you say check they put the correct date on my entry stamp what does that mean? Does it mean as Mario said to be sure the permission to stay matches my 1 year extension? Thanks again
February 9, 201412 yr They are the same stamp. They put your date of entry and permitted to stay date on same stamp.
February 9, 201412 yr I'm a little bit confused. I have a reentry permit and used it in January. My first 90 day report was due in March, based on getting my long stay visa and work permit in December. So now my 90 day report is due 90 days from my arrival on the reentry permit (Jan 8) which would be April 8? Also, does that mean that if you leave the country every 90 days you never have to do the 90 day report? Thanks.

The 90 day report is for those remaining 90 consecutive days or more in Thailand, if you are not here 90 days, then no report. So, yes the count starts again upon entry, and it is an address report, nothing to do with extending your permission to stay.
