Fiber Optic in Udon?

Featured Replies

relocating just a few miles outside the city, on a main highway, in a few weeks time. any fiber optic options for internet up there or are we stuck with adsl?

I wouldnt bother too much if you have to use ADSL as the bandwidth you get will be an allocated portion of the available bandwidth. Having Fiber Optic cable wont increase that for you

Having Fiber Optic cable certainly increases the maximum possible speed. 3BB is coming to my house this week to install Fiber Optic cable; 30 MB/s down, 3 up. I could even choose 100 down and 10 up, but 25k baht is a bit over the top for Internet.

This is a a few miles outside a smaller Isaan city than Udon, so there's no reason not to at least make inquiries to see if it's possible in the area your moving to.

It depends on which village you are moving to. I, sorry, my son's mother has a house there and we can't even get a phone line. So which village are you going to?
