Replacement glass plate for microwave

Featured Replies

Anyone know where you can get a replacement rotating glass plate for a microwave in CM?

Have you looked in Amorn? They seem to carry appliance parts still and I believe I saw the little roller support caddy the plate sits on, so maybe they have the plates too.?. I'd try the shop in ICON plaza as they seem to have a little more than the Hang Dong branch.

I had to replace one in a rental prop in the states last year. Had to special order. It cost damn near as much a new micro.

I bought an oem replacement for a Samsung at www.appliancezone.com cost me 16 usd. Samsung wanted 55. That was in the us, but it might be a good source to get the part number. Diameter will be the key. I would ask Siam Electronics just to see.

Would have helped if you mentioned the brand. I know the big Toyota place before Airport Plaza handles spare parts for many brands. As a guide a new freezer door for a small panasonic fridge cost 400 baht

I bought a replacement glass plate from Amorn about 5 or 6 years ago after my wife dropped and smashed the original plate. Think I paid about 250 baht for it.

But later the Amorn closed down for refurbishment and when they reopened again there were nowhere near the amount of useful spares on sale as there used to be. I have never seen any of the micro plates in the Amorn since, a long with a lot of other useful items they used to stock.

I doubt if the OP is going to be successful in finding one in Chiang Mai. My only suggestion is to buy a similar size plate made from soft plastic and try to adapt it into fitting into the microwave.

If its an LG microwave,I bought one at the LG service center

(google for location), it exploded in the microwave ,blowing

open the door ,glass flying every where, asked at the service

centre why this could happen ?, they could not explain why

and found it quiet funny !!,anyway a replacement was 180Bht,

now we switch on the microwave and quickly retreat to a safe

distance. (there was no metal in at the time,so its a mystery)

regards Worgeordie

scratches on the toughened glass surface caused by careless dishwashing?

Uneven and repeated heating. Microscopic flaws in manufacturing. Glass microwave plates won't last forever if used frequently.
