Chiang Mai Golf Groups - Chiang Mai Golf Courses

Featured Replies

I played golf in Chiang Mai for several years - Gymkhana, Lanna, Green Valley, Royal Chiang Mai. I was a member of Green Valley & loved it. Due to illness, I have not played for 5+ years.

Now, I am considering a comeback. I don't drive anymore but my wife has offered to drive me to the course. I wish to play maybe 2 times per week. I am 65yo. Any comments, suggestions? (I am not a drinker).

I see you have had 6 views but no replies and I, too, am not sure what you are seeking???

Of course your wife can just drive you to a course to play and you will probably be joined with others as a single as the courses are busy just now.

So what is your question?? Clearly I have misunderstood- including your non drinker comment??

Many things can change in 5+ years! Then, I found Green Valley to be fantastic except for the Japanese/Korean invasion - applied to all courses. New management came in at about that time so I am unaware of any changes to the GV experience.

Maybe there are new golf courses/changes in conditions. I had a limited membership @ Green Valley = economical. Gymkhana was close but not much of a course - I let my membership lapse.

I was off 20; came into 12 & then out to 20 again.

My wife would drive me - it is a long way to walk.

Non-drinker - drink as much as you like! I just stated that I do not drink (anymore).

What am I looking for?

Personal experiences - personal preferences.

I do not wish to travel 50km for a game.

If that is difficult to comprehend, don't provide any input - simple?.

There is a large group of mostly ex pats, Chiang Mai Social Golfers who would welcome you. They have both lower and higher handicap players. They play at Lanna on Mondays, get there by 8am, and also at Mae Jo on Tuesdays, but with a very early tee off so you need to be there at 7am I think.

Check out their website www.chiangmaigolfers.blogspot.com

Happy Golfing!

Up to you CNX- I was going to try to help but I think I am too simple for you, so enjoy your golf
