Plastic fastener for luggage

Featured Replies

I wonder if the airport still provides such a service. I'm referring to those plastic tapes that are used to wrap around your luggage to prevent the goods from spilling or luggage break open as a result of harsh handling during loading and unloading.

If you mean the wrapping service then yes they are still there.

If you mean the adjustable straps with click together joints, they are everywhere.

Yermanee----

I think the O.P is maybe referring to the " Banding" type wrap---i.e a plastic fibrous type band about an inch/25mm wide near each end of your suitcase that is put on tight with a hand machine { never seen an auto one ? }---that can only be cut off after fitting--- I have not seen one at the airport tho'--?? wai2.gif

They used to be applied years ago (Don Muang I believe) at the security check before check-in, but they where there to prove that your suitcase had been x-rayed, not to protect your luggage.

That's why I mentioned the wrapping service because that is solely intended for protection.

Thanks for the reminder though thumbsup.gif

Yep --your dead right Yermanee--

I can now remember that being done in another life --at Auckland Airport In N.Z--Them days we were all given

Gumboots/Wellies to help clear the cows and sheep off the runway before we could take off whistling.gif

--and before anyone starts the jokes about "Gumboots/ Sheep"--I've heard them all before wai2.gif
