I have met some families where the mia luang knows the mia noi(s) and everyone gets along, so to that extent yes that's in line. But I don't think many Thais are happy about any of their mia returning the favor, but AFAIC what's good for the gander's good for the goose. Very often some LGBT in there somewhere also in fact the movement's pretty much got its roots there, next step in the natural progression toward anything goes. . . But hard to imagine the legal/economic ramifications wrt inheritance/insurance/next of kin etc. . . I know we are getting off the topic here, but like how can people deal with the heartache, headache, and jealousy that came along with sharing someone. It is true that some people aren't able to separate the "possessive" side of their feelings from higher aspects of love, as opposed to just having fun, getting sexercise. And obviously it is critical to have full open honesty and relentless communication at a high level of skill is required to make sure everyone is kept in the loop and aware of each others' feelings. It's definitely not an easy path, and many people just can't be bothered putting in the required energy. One "shortcut" of course is "my way or the highway", for one central person to be in charge, dictate the rules. But this isn't a formula for those who want relationships to last more than a few years at a time. Two woman it one too many. It's true many times I've felt that there was one partner too many, but sometimes that partner was me, so easy to fix. Perhaps you'd prefer multiple guys + one woman? Up to you. . . Obviously the point of having well worked out rules of engagement for everyone is to protect the deeper love relationships, the physical/fun ones need to be tossed overboard as soon as the primary ones are threatened. But funny enough everyone knowing what's going on gives a very strong sense of trust and security compared to the usual cheating that goes on with "monogamish" couples. Some families (can't call them couples) keep everything to pairings, others get into group fun, some don't want to know or meet "the others", some live all together.
