Phra Buddha Issara reduces Chaeng Wattana rally site's space, open road to Government Complex

BANGKOK: -- Phrad Buddha Issara Tuesday reduced space at the Chaeng Wattana rally site and opened the road to allow motorists to enter and leave the Government Complex.

The monk led protesters to demolish barriers on the Chaeng Wattana Road in from of the CAT Telecom and Department of Special Investigation to open the road to the Government Complex.

He also stopped the rally on the Chaeng Wattana Road and held it only from the front of the Administrative Court to the DSI but made sure that the rally would not block road to and from the Government Complex.

Any chance that the Immd will resume services?

I wish people would stop calling him a Prah. He is a disgrace, both as a Thai and a "Bhuddist".

Boxclever... I think that perhaps you've had too many blows to the head.

Some outbound lanes on Chaeng Watthana Rd now open for traffic

BANGKOK, 18 February 2014 (NNT) – People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) protesters have agreed to return a portion of Chaeng Watthana Road's surface to the public to allow traffic to pass through.

Police Colonel Charoen Sisassalak, deputy commander of Metropolitan Police 2, spoke of the negotiation with PDRC leaders at the Chaeng Watthana rally site on Monday. According to him, the demonstrators, who were led by Phra Phuttha Issara, agreed to open the road surface on some of Chaeng Watthana's outbound lanes. Commuters looking to travel to Pakkret in Nonthaburi will now be able to use the road behind the government complex to enter Chaeng Watthana Road.

Pol. Col. Charoen said Traffic Police and PDRC guards will help to facilitate traffic flow on the newly-opened lanes. However, protesters still refused to open the inbound lanes on Chaeng Watthana Road.

Excuse me, but are the above posts actually made by expats living in and out of Thailand?

I have been here for over 20 years and was on the front line on the night of May 17 1992 when Thai security troops under the Suchinda government opened fire at protesters gathering at Sanam Luang.

I am so proud (then and now) to see the heart of the Thai people out on the streets farmers and all.

Expats....do your homework. Do just a little research and you will find a history of a man (Thaksin) who has been a hugely corrupt and an unscrupulous and greedy parasitic megalomaniac who will NEVER be able to steal enough money from this great country.

He is a convicted criminal who has siphoned billions upon billions of baht from the Thai people and now under his own sister has completely ruined the best quality and best producing rice industry in the world!

It is gone with Cambodia winning last years Best Jasmine rice in the world award and India and Vietnam's rice harvests both out producing Thailand.

They have ruined the country and totally divided the Thai people.

For God's sake! These poor rice farmers are the very people the Shinawatra's convinced to vote for them.

Yingluck doesn't even have the integrity or consideration to even show up to appease these poor farmers and Chalerm is running scared and half mad as he knows that if the Shinawatra Regime crashes his career and life is over and that includes his alleged murdering son.

The alleged murdering son comment is simply information taken from public domain (Google it!) and should not be omitted.

Wikipedia: Chalerm Yubamrung: In 2001 Duangchalerm was arraigned for the murder of a police officer. After deserting from the Army and fleeing to Malaysia, he returned and handed himself in. He was released from jail on bail terms in 2003, and finally acquitted as the court considered the evidence insufficient and the witnesses accounts contradictory.[

Notation: In Thailand the word contradictory is often a synonym for purchasable.

Yes, it does seem that you have to organize a band of corrupt thugs to become Prime Minister in Thailand but plundering the nations funds, ruining the country while turning Thai citizen against Thai citizen and then spitting on our King is just NOT in the cards folks.......it ain't gunna happen!

Yes, Suthep has his own allegations of a corrupt history......but which one of you would walk in his shoes today....for even a minute!

The man is and will go down historically as a super hero and servant to our King and the people of Siam......want to bet?

Stand up Khun Thai! Stand up every Thai farmer that gave their rice harvest and received nothing in return!

Fight this insanely evil piece of dung and through every generation of his family out with him as they have disgraced our King, our country and the very souls of our people.

Yes, I'm white but I'm no expat!

This is my home, my King and my brothers and sisters.

Fight on and drive the snake out of the land!

Now it is time to turn this over again to the usual ignorant barking dogs so they can shoot their uneducated and sorry asses off!

200 well-equipped hired thugs!

Good post Boz, where have you been when we needed you?

Yes, I'm one of the above posters and I live here.

You say you aren't an expat, how's that work?

Now that the revoked unlawfully imposed emergency decree has taken the sails out of Chalerm's operations, the CMPO as indeed the whole administration will need to reframe almost everything they have said in the last four weeks, as all things enacted under the emergency decree - the charges, the arrests, the restrictions, the media clampdown - all of it dissolves in a puff of smoke. The Civil Court did a great justice to the people of Thailand today by exposing Chalerm's lie for what it was. And as this ruling specifically cited that the emergency decree was unlawfully invoked, that will forge a direct path to the Constitutional Court. As they have already deemed the protests constitutional, they will be predisposed to look at its issuance with great skepticism, as no caretaker administration has ever invoked an emergency decree, let alone ten days before a national election.

Thank you friend.

Like I said: This is my home, my King and my brothers and sisters.

I'm not going anywhere!

Peace Bro....until they steal your wallet!

Luk Mhee what are you trying to say, I live on Chaeng Wattana and I a totally innocent citizen as are thousands of others, yet our life style has been ruined by these irresponsible children who have captured us. Personally I'd don't care a <deleted> that the government offices have been closed but I pray that I could get my hands on a decent sniper rifle, from 600m these thugs would have no idea what hit them and from where. If that happened I am sure they would disappear quicker than could be imagined. They are cowards hiding behind numbers. I would like to suggest that all innocent people refuse to pay taxes and whatever to make a point

Are the elderly protesters wheelchair bound and are the 200 hired thugs fascists?
you are just looking for attention!
