Installed a new Memory (SD card) 32 Gig into my cell phone and not being able to installing root.

My question is this. The other day I decided to install a new SD card into my new cell phone Huawei Y511-U30 which I had before but someone stole it, now when I connected it to the computer to be able to transfer files from the computer to the Cell phone (SD card), I wasn’t able to do so. The computer only recognized two extra drives G and H. G drive was readable while drive H was not readable. I was told that I needed to install something called Root to be able to open up the SD drive.

I went only and looked for the driver for my phone brand Huawei Y511-U30 brand. When I found a driver it was in Chinese and I don’t read Chinese. Is there any way around this or another driver that I can install that should do the trick?

I took the phone back to the place I bought it at “Jay Mart” and the staff / sales people knew of root, but had no knowledge how to install or access it.

I then went out to one of the people selling and servicing cell phones out in the main hallway, but they had no idea.

Try www.xdadevelopers.com & www.needrom.com for the driver you need. I was able to install an English ROM into my Chinese Lenovo P780 using their instructions.

Many of the 32GB memory cards sold in Pantip and discount shops are defective...probably counterfeit.

You may need to download the mediatek drivers. See this YouTube :

Also when you plug the phone in what happens. Do you get a request on the phone screen?

You may need to format the SD card.

Questions:

1. Can you access the new 32GB card on the phone?

2. Have you used the phone to format the card?

Some android phones will display dual drive letters when connected to a PC. One drive will be R/O (read only) and contain driver software, the other drive should me R/W (read write) and give access to the content of either the internal memory or removable sdcard.

On some phones, when you first plug the android phone into a PC, a dialog may pop up on the phone requesting permission to provide access. If you don't answer the dialog then the phone only goes into usb charging mode.

ROOT (administrator R/W privilege) is only required if you need to change something with the operating system.

While either direct cabled access, or placing the sdcard in an adapter and plugging it directly into your PC are preferred for speed, you can also transfer files over WiFi through a number of apps in the google play store. Personally I like ES File Explorer, but there may be a couple that make the process easier and more direct.
