webfact
Phra Buddha Issara leads protesters to besiege Voice TVThe NationBANGKOK: -- Protesters led by Phra Buddha Iassara started rallying outside the Voice TV satellite TV station at 9:20 am Monday. The protesters arrived in five buses and several pick-up trucks. The TV station is owned by Pantongtae Shinawatra, the son of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra. The monk announced that farmers, who were rallying in front of the Commerce Ministry, would move to rally in front of the TV station as well and they would stay overnight there. The monk said farmers were dissatisfied that the TV station had reported that the protesting farmers were not real ones but established protesters."So, the farmers want to show that they are the real ones," the monk said. The station was guarded by 20 policemen led by Pol Col Charoen Srisalak, deputy commander of Metropolitan Police Division 2.The monk criticized the police for guarding the TV station instead of helping farmers. The monk said police should set up a new police station at the TV station if they would like to serve the Thaksin regime.-- The Nation 2014-02-24

How about shutting your pie hole Issara and let the leader of the farmers talks for themsleves and not for you!! Sad to say they are just pawns and equally dispensable to those who are using them to promote their own anti-democratic aims. Ironically, if Suthep had allowed the Dems to field candidates and allowed all those folk in the south to vote, we might now have a different party leading the government, albeit a coalition. But being elected into government through the democratic process is not and never was the real aim.

Popular Post Fat Haggis
This is what is called a peaceful protest? Well yes it is. Any bombs exploding at Voice TV? Any shots fired? That's true, but when you prevent someone from entering their place of work, and they get pissed off about it, then it's not peaceful is it? There's a difference between protesting and allowing people to move freely to and from their place of work, than to blockade them from doing so. What next? anyone who has worked for the Shiniwatras or continues to work be publically flogged for putting bread on the table and shoes on their kids feet and earning a wage?

Fat Haggis
Many people have questioned the farmers authenticity, if I told you I was a Submarine Commander would you believe it? It's truths half truths and lies all the time, both sides spinning to their minions, it's easy enough to prove you're a farmer, just bring your land deeds with you and present them as bona fides and that will stop people questioning your credibility and background. I have participated in large gatherings in Iraq, where out of 2-3 hundred people the ones with a genuine grievence were less than 3 or 4 individuals, the rest were sheeple, just following the crowds to see what was going on, it was classic rent a mob.I'm NOT saying this is always the case, but it happens and I'm NOT saying this is what's happening here, but the genuine farmers have a grievence, and they need to have theirs sorted before all this reformation stuff. What happened to the Millions, I read somewhere that Suthep raised over 50 Million for the farmers, why did he not organise a PR stunt in front of the worlds media, and hand over that money to the leader of the Farmers? That would have elevated him more favourably to the remaining farmers, and nay sayers don't you think? Or did he collect it, and bank it in his own accounts, allowing his account to gain the daily interest accumulated? What's wrong with Issara going to the TV station with the leader(s) of these farmers and asking to set the record straight? and allow the voice of the farmers heard?

Scamper
Farmers are still reeling at the " you're not real famers ". That is a phrase that will doubtless be passed from generation to generation. Absolutely, rally in front of a TV station that is dedicated to claiming you are not real farmers. And the fact that it is a Thaksin family station is I am sure quite coincidental. Edited February 24, 2014 by Scamper

Fat Haggis
Exactly Gerry!! And it's when tempers flare and it's 34 degrees it tends to go from flash to bang in seconds, that being said, the vast majority of the protests have had the carnival atmoshphere, but now they've seem to have taken more darker undertones. But like I said, there's a difference between protesting about something, than physically preventing access to locations and places of work and resorting to Intimidation and eventualy violent confrontation There was a very serious incident in Iraq a couple of months ago, google the Schlumberger riot, I used to work in that camp 2 years ago, and that situation went from flash to bang in minutes, and mobs decended on that place looting and beating anyone that got in their way, all done over a religious flag that was asked to be removed by the client..These mobs appeared very quickly and over 2 days they even passed through several IP checkpoints to get there, the IP were useles, on par with the Thai Police. If a bomb exploded and shot fired, it is called a violence armed protest. So, you are saying when people block the entrance or road to your house in protest, if no bomb exploded, no shot fired, it is peaceful??? It's truths half truths and lies all the time, both sides spinning to their minions, it's easy enough to prove you're a farmer, just bring your land deeds with you and present them as bona fides and that will stop people questioning your credibility and background. If they hadn't lost their land already. A lot of farmers lend money to grow their next crop. The 15,000 baht a ton from the rice scheme sounds good. Part of the stories that had never been told until recently is that since the rice scheme was instroduced the prices of the fertiliser, pesticide and herbicide went up proportionally. They would not get much left from the sale after all the debt was deducted from the payout. Some local official would do almost anything to take their land for the rich investors (or thieves). 25 mil baht was raised to help the farmers in court. Money was divided into chunks of 200,000 baht. Each of the 11 families that lost their member from suicide would get 200,000 baht. The rest of money was used for running the protest. Each family that lost members from the attacks will get 1 million baht. Each studying children from the families that lost their members would have 2 million baht fund for thier education. Each injured person will receive 20,000 baht. Edited February 24, 2014 by agent69
antimedia
Amazing how both the Nation and Thai PBS conveniently forget to mention the real reason for going to the TV station. Luang Pu 'visits' Voice TV Thaksin's children asked to help indebted farmers - online news Bangkok Post If you keep relying on the media for your pathetic arguments you will always end up as a shame job. A little difficult for a lot of the red farangs, trying to balance on a bar stool and write something credible.
