RICE-PLEDGING SCHEME
Yingluck to ask for postponement for NACC testimony: chief lawyer

BANGKOK: -- Caretaker premier Yingluck Shinawatra is to ask for a postponement in providing testimony to the national anti-graft committee on the rice-pledging scheme because more time is needed to compile documents, the chief of her legal team said on Thursday.

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has charged Yingluck with neglect of duty for failing to stop the scheme from damaging the state. She is due to testify to the NACC on March 14.

Phiraphan Phalusuk said there are several documents related to the charges and the team of lawyers needed more time to prepare.

He added the NACC had allowed Yingluck's lawyers to review evidence against her in the ricepledging case on Tuesday. Phiraphan is also caretaker Science and Technology minister.

She can have more time.

At the end she will be found guilty and she will be ousted.

And even her mighty brother, can't save her this time.

but with this tactic it may need months....years and Thailand is suffering.

If he can do it, why can't she?

Is she using the "I'm trying to bring down the government" excuse too?

Only difference is, she will manage to bring down the government herself, whereas Suthep has been a side-show.

As the Chairperson of the pledging committee one would have thought that she had more than enough documents at hand and could put a whole stack together in a few hours. Something smells rotten, like those mountains of decaying rice.

The Science Minister is in this legal loop in what capacity? This could be second, third or fourth hand info or even from the cleaning help who picked up a inner office memo. If its not on 'facebook' how do we verify what the plan is? The spokesperson for the legal team should be approaching the committee involved, I would think, especially if the caretaker PM is paying for their services in her defense.

well I suppose it will take a while for them to make up a story to cover her arse, heaven forbid if she tells the truth they will put her in jail and throw away the key. They simply need more time to make all the bullsh*t come together so she can lay the blame at someone elses feet(probably suthep), pity that she has always claimed she is the leader and runs the show, it also means she has to take responsibility, dont think she ever realized that though, it would have required a bit of brain power, something she has none of.

The reason can't be because she is leading the government and the country surely.

It would be the first time she claimed that as an excuse.

She's probably on a state visit to inspect vegetables in The Peoples Democratic Republic of Shinawatra.

Lol she talks a lot of crap but she's copying her hated enemy, Suthep.

Personally, I don't believe she "talks" anything at all. I am of the opinion

that it is her "handlers" who prepare ALL the press releases. YL said this,

YL said that, YL proposes, YL cancels ... pleeeeeze wink.png

I think they'll claim that she didn't know about any Rice Committee meetings and that Suthep impersonated her, so he's responsible for the corruption. Just picture Suthep posing as Yingluk. No a pretty picture, or a very believable one.

No details of any documents identified as evidence have been revealed to the public. Why? Is there a "gag order" built into Thailand's judicial system that forbids disclosure of prosecution evidence to the public? Where is the transparency as to what evidence the court is reviewing as foundation for whatever ruling it makes on the charge? Thaland does not use a jury system to determine criminal guilt so what's the harm? Maybe because IF the court rules against Yingluck it does not want the public to question the foundation for its ruling that might appear arbitrary. Might hurt the Court's credibility.

Yingluck has all the evidence now. Will you complain to her about not releasing it to the public?
