Has anyone checked North korea ?

More to the point has North Korea tested any missiles recently.

They fired 2 missiles into the sea last week.

That is an even bigger fantasy than me winning the UK Lottery. N Korea attack a Beijing bound plane? Come on!

Intentionally, No, I do not think they could hit a barn door at 100 yards, but one day they are bound to hit something...

I think the US has some fairly good eyes on what gets launched from North Korea.

According to AV Herald they're reporting this recent sighting of potential field of debris:

Hong Kong's Air Traffic Control Center reported on Mar 10th 2014 around 17:30L (09:30Z) that an airliner enroute on airway L642 reported via HF radio that they saw a large field of debris at position N9.72 E107.42 about 80nm southeast of Ho Chi Minh City, about 50nm off the south-eastern coast of Vietnam in the South China Sea and about 281nm northeast of the last known radar position. Ships have been dispatched to the reported debris field"

So I summarise here in a few words what I have seen in the link, compared to what I have read here before, and that does not really fit, but I am far from a specialist in this field unlike you maybe?

Plus to be honest I do not really care who is right...or not. Have a good day

That reply was a tough one to read so I cut it out as you are mixing what I said with Traveller45 who I originally replied to.

Suffice it to say within reason & logic it is highly unlikely to safely ditch a disabled commercial airliner

descending from 35,000' into an open ocean wink.png

I merely pointed out your example on the Hudson River was one of little comparison benefit given their low altitude & airspeed.

But even from that low altitude & low airspeed they tore open the hull of that plane too. wink.png

No need to care as there is no right or wrong here just likely conclusion given simple reason & logic.

a hudson river style landing is as possible in a calm sea as a calm river

the pilot can reduce speed and altitude as if it were a normal landing

but in the middle of the sea not much chance for the passengers survival anyway

i think id rather be killed in the crash then floating in the middle of some ocean

Seems the color of the fake passport holders is black....

"However, Malaysia's civil aviation chief Azharuddin Abdul Rahman told a press conference the one of the pair looked like Italian footballer Mario Balotelli.

When asked to confirm whether this meant the men were black, Rahman replied "Yes".

So wait a second, passport pictures were white people, travelers were black people, no questions asked? coffee1.gif

the malayasian airline are being very economical with the truth.........probably to cover up their multiple blunders with security

and probably already consulting lawyers for damage limitation excuses to reduce their negligence

these guys have been asian ,thai ,white and now black ??

The more I read and hear about this (be it from experts, journalists or internet warriors), the more convinced I am that we, the general public, will never know what really happened.

Sure, there will be some formal explanation in a few months time when the attention has died down and a scapegoat has been found (my money is on the maintenance crew), but the way this has been managed so far means that whatever is formally released will not be believeable.

i spoke to a kazak pilot today who are on leave in Colombo, Sri lanka ... fly for Cathay but in the past flyed fro Air Asia, he have alot of colleges in Malaysia still. And what is mind buggling is that he comfirm the news that he also heard from them that Five passangers checked in baggage to the flight . But prior to the boarding they did NOT boarded the plane.

Now ..speculation if so someone told them the plane will go down?. Also he said (not comfirmed) that one of the air hostres also opted out the flight just minutes before boarding she suddenly became sick ?.

very strange indeed.

Well he did not told me that but i dont think they will give access to the nationalities before they are really sure..., a good bet would be she the air hostress was Malaysian . What he told me that the 5 lougages passed the security check after they took it off. It makes also very strange, why 5 people + maybee a air hostress would opt out after checking in the baggs?

If it was terrorist it makes sence that maybee these 5 +2 checking in...if the two "real terrorists" get in..the other five will leave. Plan B. might be that 5+2 would take the plane it down with a fight ? i dont know

And the two passangers with European passport was said to look like Balotelli? that means most probl east africa , Kongo, Ghana?

What were the nationalities of the five passengers and the stewardess? And if the hostess herself was an accomplice, maybe placing the bomb on the plane? As I believe someone to accomplice customs controls.

As I pointed out earlier, nothing suspicious with people missing their flights, it happens all the time.

No doubt they will none the less be investigated.

The air hostess felling sick, again it is a long trip and if she felt unwell, she would have probably been ordered off the flight,

She must be felling really sick now especially if she knew the person who took her place.

This is really a very sad incident! I hope they will all turn out alright.

The fact that the plane disappeared from radars, and that no distress communication from the pilots, suggests to me that it was blown up in mid-air and disintegrated.

I wish and pray I am wrong!

Guardian reports (from China Digital)

Chinas central propaganda department appear to have issued a directive to reporters and journalists not

to independently comment on the flight, and maintain coverage in accordance with the official government

news agency Xinhua.

At this rate, kidnapped by the chinese air force is as likely as anything. There can't be a way a plane this big could fall onto the sea and be unfound for 3 days with the worlds air forces and navy's searching can it?

would need to be a hell of a bomb to blow up the 4 transponders as well ..........a handful of c4 would down the plane

but not take out the 4 black boxes as well

A theory

Suppose:

1. Hijackers entered the cockpit.

2. A fight ensued

3. The plane was accidentally set to ascend at an angle of, say, 30-40 degrees.

4. An accident occurred. Maybe a gun was fired. A window got broken. The plane was depressurized.

5. Everyone on board died due to a lack of oxygen.

6. The plane then continued to ascend.

What would happen? Could the plane just go higher and higher? Could it continue flying upwards by itself even though all crew and passengers were dead?

Please excuse my obvious lack of knowledge with regards to these issues.

It would stall once the air got too thin for the engines to function.

OK. Thanks. I guess then it would just flop into the sea. I guess the black box would still be working, too.

I think the theory about North Korean rockets hitting the plane is way off. The rockets they tested had quite short range, they could hit South Korea, but no way near the area where the plane flew. Of course the US and Japan would know if any long range rocket was launched.

they have rockets that are capable of hitting things 96 miles in any direction ,its possible they shot it down but i think unlikley

as the comeback would blow them back to the stone age

No, it's NOT possible. Take a look at a map, draw a 96 miles line from any coastline in North Korea and see how far away you are.

Financial Times has an article about the purchaser for the two with stolen passports. Can be read for free directly at the FT website, but requires registration. Excerpts posted here, and appear to be accurate excerpts of the FT article:

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-03-10/mysterious-iranian-mr-ali-purchased-tickets-stolen-passport-passengers-paid-cash

Per the article, the request was for the cheapest tickets to Europe and not this specific route or airline. Had been originally booked on different airlines but those reservations expired, then was re-booked at the cheapest price, which happened to be the route through Beijing.

The FT article is here, though a registration screen will pop up. I have an existing registration so am not sure how long it takes to get access:

SIMPLE question here,,, let's NOT speculate as to WHY it,, "DISSAPEARED",,,, but as to HOW it, "VAPORIZED",,,, in a day and age,, when someone, (agencies),, can LITERALLY,,, count the change in someones hand, from a satillight in orbit,,,, AND knowing the GENERAL area it was lost,, has NO ONE,,, seen even a SINGLE , seat cushion,, (floatation device),,, out of about probably over 300?????,,,,, REALLY....REALLY???????

Just a point.

Re ELT's (Emergency Locator Transmitters)

According to Air India (and assuming most airlines would have similar equipment)

They have 8 ELT's, one for each slide raft and a master ELT, these will activate on contact with water, and can be picked up by satellites but only last for 48 hours.

Assuming the plane broke up on or before impact with water why have they not been heard?

This is a ridiculous scenario. A massive aircraft flying over busy seas and land with military and civilian radar around simply disappears without trace.

Something is wrong here. Obviously it isn't remotely where they think it is. Maybe it decompressed and flew uncontrolled for hours in which case it could be thousands of kilometres away.

Highly unlikely it has ditched where they think. Half the navy's of south east Asia and the chinese and the americans are looking and can't find it?

Impossible.

No. There's a tendency in this age of technological advance to believe that the superpowers are omnipresent. Amazingly, they're not.
