The Royal Princess is one of the best value hotels I have ever stayed in. I think it's 1,800 a night now, but it is a wonderful hotel. The evening buffet is something else, and the breakfast beats most hotels in Thailand.

As I posted on a previous thread: Korat Hotels

Looking at one hotel website shows the Royal Princess starting at 1,306 Baht. Royal Princess

My "but" with the Royal Princess is that it is a fair distance from any "action". Maybe it's easy to get a tuk tuk out there, but seems whenever I'm in the area, I don't see so many. :o

The last time I was in Korat, about six months ago, I remember seeing a hotel opposite the main entrance to the airbase. Sorry, but I dont remember the name. Maybe one of the regular posters here will be able to post it. Another choice, although it's in town, is the Sri Pattana. I guess it would be about a 20 min. ride to the base.

thanks for the replys. The main priority is safe parking, though near to the base would be nice.

Unless you are parking a Bugatti Veyron, I wouldn't worry overly about safety of your car/truck. This is not Bangkok/Liverpool/The Projects!
