Hello and Sawasdee khrap,

I'd like to post an advertisement as our school is seeking English teachers for the new academic year 2014/2015.

We'll accept Native English speakers, but also applicants from European countries with an excellent command in English, written and spoken. The Thai superiors couldn't exactly tell me how many positions will be available, as some internal restructure will take place, plus the summer break.

Starting salary is 25 K, with one term ( from middle of May to end of September) on probation. Native English speakers with experience are of course preferred; a higher salary would be possible if you meet the right expectations.

Please be aware that we do not have an EP and therefore not the needed money to cope with other schools regarding the salary, as the parents only pay a small amount a year, which we're using to pay for our foreign teachers.

Females are more than welcome to join us. We'll assist you to find a suitable accommodation, as we do not have any space on campus at the moment.

But this could eventually change in the near future, depending on the school director's decision, as some teachers who didn't succeed over a longer period of time might have to look for a new position.

Our school gains more and more attention and it's our goal to ensure the best possible education in English, being the PEER center of such a big province. We also hold seminars for teachers, directors and of course for our young learners.

You'll receive a 12 months’ salary, visa and work permit will be paid for, but not the first, where you'll have to leave the country to obtain your Non-B visa in Laos. Once you apply at the local Immigration office after 90 days, we'll pay for all visa and work permit fees.

You'll have the ordinary Thai social security with full coverage, teaching load will be 19 hours per week, divided into two hours each class, plus one hour English club in the last period of Friday. Extracurricular activities are possible on weekends, but not often.

One teaching position in grade five is confirmed, I can't give any details about the other position(s) right now. The idea our Thai head teacher had was to meet end of April, those who’ll have the position(s) can come back on the 12th of May to receive the needed documents, to obtain a Non-B visa in Laos/Sawannaket.

School will start on the 16th of May, which will be enough time to stay in Laos overnight, as you'll have to apply for your visa in the morning and pick it up the next day in the afternoon.

Please only applicants with a BA in any field, as this will be mandatory to apply for a provisional Teacher's license, also called waiver letter. The school administration does not want to hire applicants from an Asian or an African country.

Please no complaints about the salary, as I'm not the employer. Such who complain will be rewarded with Somtham Lao made by me.

Please forward your resume and I will get in touch with you as soon as possible. Hope to see you soon. Cheers-wai2.gif
