Phuket Police set to launch nationwide manhunt for Patong headhunter killers
Phuket Gazette

PHUKET: -- Patong Police are preparing to send an alert to every police station in the country in the hopes of apprehending three prime suspects for the murder of Myanmar worker Wai Phyo Kyaw, 22, whose decapitated body was found dumped on Patong Hill on March 9.

“We have learned the names of three of the five men we are looking for,” Patong Police Deputy Superintendent Khunnadet Nanongkhai told the Phuket Gazette this afternoon.

“We will ask the court to issue the arrest warrants against the three men as soon as possible.”

Lt Col Khunnadet declined to name the suspects, who were all co-workers of Mr Kyaw and were last seen embroiled in a violent argument with him on the night he was beheaded.

“We believe they are no longer in Phuket. Once we have the arrest warrants, we will notify every police station in the country to be on the lookout for them,” Col Khunnadet said.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the identities of the two other men last seen with Mr Kyaw continues.

“We have descriptions of the men and will continue checking CCTV cameras and questioning witnesses in Patong. Other police stations will check CCTV images in their areas in case they are hiding somewhere on the island,” Col Khunnadet said.

Why do they always have to wait for an arrest warrant before they can apprehend a suspected criminal for questioning?

If I harm/kill someone in front of a policeman will they have to leave me alone until they get an arrest warrant?

Okay, don't get how taking someone's head off makes one a "headhunter". It just makes you a murderer who cut someone's head off. They aren't roaming the countryside looking for more heads to cut off and shrink I presume.

Accusing someone of a crime no one has witnessed and witnessing someone committing a crime are two different things. You can't just drag someone off to the station just because you think he did something. Obviously calling them up and asking them to come down to the station for an interview won't do, unless you plan on giving them time to sync their statements or flee. Hence they get an arrest warrant first so they can just bag 'em.

Meanwhile, "Mick the Pom" appears to be busy serving beer in his bar in the Philippines.

Of course, there's no corruption or incompetence involved. That's just the wheels of "Planet Phuket's" Justice system turning slowly.

If you kill a policeman by ramming him in your expensive car, he won't be able to arrest you because he hasn't fetched a warrant from the court....

On the other hand if you cause a drunken policeman to lose face in public he can shoot you and run over your bodies with his car to save the effort of fetching a warrant.

It seems that if it is 'just a Burmese" all manner of headlines are OK to draw attention to the story..

The online blogsite had something along the lines of;

"man loses his head in more ways than one"

Thats really bizarre and totally disrespectful IMO...blink.png
