We are happy to announce the opening of Lake Mabprachan Resort's pub in time for the Worldcup 2006.

We have two big projection screens inside the air conditioned pub (22 and 40 sq. feet), and a huge outdoor screen of 280 sq.feet ( 6.4m X 4.8m) on which we will show all worldcup games including English commentary!

Everybody's welcome, from the 9th of june 6PM onwards...

For the worldcup shedule, check out http://www.mabprachanresort.com/worldcup.htm

Cheers

Great news guys- I wish you well!

I do know also that Jamesons in Pattaya are showing every single game in English live. They have 3 rooms and 17 televisions including a huge big screen telly. They are getting the feed from South African Supersport channel. The foods not bad in there either-must try the well priced specials everyday. I know where I will be going although I dont know about the late night ones!!! could end up been an alcholic..

Hey Monty, When are you going to put some signs up in the road?

Otherwise it might be difficult for some people to find :o

I don't want them ending up at the Mobi Mansion by mistake, and expecting free booze and food. :D

Am chasing the sign man right now :D

You won't miss them when they are in place, so don't worry Mobi, they'll end up in the right place fort the booze and food :o

50 B Chang / Leo

60 B Singha / Tiger

70 B Heineken

Not sure yet for the import beers like Guiness, Tetleys etc...

We get the first delivery in today...

The draft suppliers first want to see the pub operational before bringing in any equipment, so only bottled beer for a start!

I hear Mobi is cheaper......or was that cheap :D:D:o

I'm getting worried. Passed the soi at 4 pm and still no sign of the signs. :D

Keep away from me!! The family drank me dry the other week and I haven't restocked yet :D

I'm going to track down Monty if its the last thing I do tonight.!

you can always come and hide in our place Mobi :D

They'll install the poles for the signs and the signs themselves the day after...

Luckily the missing furniture arrived late today, only a week late :o Was quite stressful having to wait for these rather usefull accesories!!!

Well, I don't know if I'm on a different planet. I guess I must be.

It so happened that I was celebrating a particularly important milestone yesterday, one day late, because guess who forgot it on the correct day?.

So wife and I put on our best bib and tucker, arranged baby sitter, and got ready to 'do' the town.

"I, know," says Mobi, "how about starting off at the new Mabprachan resort, have a few drinks and a bit of nosh, and take it from there - it's their opening tonight, at 6.m."

"Sounds like a great idea" said the wife.

Baby sitter was a bit late, so we set out at 7.p.m. "That's allright", I thought, " should be getting into the swing of things by now, can't wait to see Monty's World Cup TV screens."

Drove down the road, still no signs, but never mind, turned left into the soi and stopped outside this huge great building. Everything seemed rather dark, as I drove up to the entrance. "That's odd, gates closed. no cars parked - am I at the right place?"

Saw a large sign on the outside wall 'Mapbrachan Resort'. "No, this is the place right enough, unless there's 2 the same, or I'm in a parrallel universe." (Shades of Majestic Bistro I'm a- thinking).

I got out of the car.

"where you going?" the wife asked.

"I'm making bloody sure they're not all hiding behind the wall - don't want anyone accusing me tomorrow of not looking properly - you know how stupid I am"

"Well you're certainly being stupid now - there's no-one here, the place is empty and in darkness, let's get out of here before we're mugged!"

Back in the Mobi-mobile and off to Pattaya, for a thoroughly enjoyable night out. Wife got drunk, I stayed sober, but felt great driving home at 1.30 am without havging to worry about drink driving.

This morning, rubbing my sleepy eyes, I thought I'd better check just to make sure I hadn't got the date and time wrong. No, there it is post No.3 - June 6th, 6 p.m

Happy 60th birthday Mobi :D

(No thanks to Monty and all those wonderful guys and girls at the Mabprachan resort :o)

It's a bit bloody late for that.

It wasn't confusion - it was mis-information!!

What is with all you guys?

I've been pissed around by more farangs in the past six months than I have by Thais in 30 years. :D

I despair, I really do :D

Something seems to happen to you when you settle down here.

Beginning to think the Pattaya bashers may be right after all. :D

A belated Happy Birthday Mobi, so did you go to the Majestic Bistro instead? :D

Seeing as you asked, at the wife's suggestion we went to hard Rock cafe and I had an excellent New York strip steak - the first proper frang meal I've had in ages. The house band was also extremely good, and the waiters and waitresses were fun. :D

Then we adjourned to the BF to catch Lam at midnight. At the risk of upsetting his many thousands of fans (and no doubt inviting a heap of approbation down on my neck), I found his set somewhat self indulgent. Technically brilliant he may be, but it was more like "look how great I am" Lam jam session. Eric Clapton would have been hauled of stage if he performed like that.

I was more entertained by the Hard Rock house band. But that's just me - it looked like Lam's adoring fans loved every minute. :D

Hm... I am having a grouchy old sixtieth.... criticising two of TV's sponsors in one thread :o

I believe that they are called 'The Elizabeth Band', though I may stand corrected. They used to play at the Hard Rock a few years ago, then I think they left and have come back again as the House band.

The female singer is well, urmn, rather, well, err, you know what I mean. :D

resort, the pictures on the website look great. The opening of the world cup will pass me by but I hope to look the final in the pub.

I do not know if Jimmy visits this forum himself ,but I would be happy if someone could give him a notice about my reply here ,I used to visit www.pattaya*****.com and that website points to Lake mabprachan resort so I can not be wrong.

I was dragged kicking and screaming to the Mabprachan Resort today by that fine upstanding member of the community known as Mantra today.

He talked me into helping him with the instalation of 2 very nice waterfeatures.

Unfortunatley when we got there the bases hadn't been prepared so we sodded off to the pub instead. :D:D

Mantra assures me that he has Monty on a case of tiger a day penalty clause as from last Monday so we should be well sorted for the footy :o:D

see ya all there

Now what would such an upstanding member of the community, as Mantra supposedly is, do with lots of cases of such poisonous stuff like Tiger???

I guess he'll have to drag his dear friend Kurgen, probably screaming and kicking again, over to the place to help him out on this terrible problem :o

For everybody else, we will be open for business on friday the 9th of June at 6PM...

The satellite system is tuned and checked, with full live coverage of the worldcup, including English commentary available...

Obviously the pub is well stocked with the liquid calories, and the kitchen will open with a limited menu while our chef is stocking up on things and is teaching his underlings...

Hope to see you guys soon...

Cheers,

Jimmy & Monty

That IS Lam though! He's been that way for nearly 50 years. Look at the way he dresses!-

Its is "The Lam Morrison Show" after all. :D

Can't argue with you there - a thousand extra wrinkles, but apart from that, it's the same Lam I used to know more than 25 years ago - looks like the same clothes too :o

If Keith Richards falls out of any more trees, they could co-opt Lam into the Rolling Stones as a replacement.

It just goes to show that you can survive for ever on sex drugs and rock'n'roll. :D

I guess you're right Dave - it certainly is his show :D

I give a crap about the soccer cup, but an important question to me is: Do you show the F1 at Silverstone tomorrow at 7 pm? Does it collide with any of that soccer madness going on at the moment? I have no TV myself as I watch nothing but the F1, so I am relying on pubs with a nice big screen and chilled refreshments... :o
