March 23, 201411 yr A little bit like being a business partner with this guy http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/japan/6939379/Japanese-man-who-survived-two-atomic-bombs-dies.html
April 19, 201411 yr Sounds like he's just brave enough to take risks to save his comrades. I'd be honoured to serve with him.
April 21, 201411 yr I can't remember which episode it was, but on an old QI, Mr Fry put up a photo of a very old Japanese man and asked who he was. No one knew. Turns out that he survived the first nuclear strike at Hiroshima, got on a train for Nagasaki to get medical treatment and was there when that one hit. Only died a couple of years ago, of old age.

Turns out that he survived the first nuclear strike at Hiroshima, got on a train for Nagasaki to get medical treatment and was there when that one hit. Only died a couple of years ago, of old age. The man in question was Tsutomu Yamaguchi. and QI is one of the most enjoyably funny shows that the BBC has put on, can't wait for the LSeries. I just checked Wikipedia :- On December 17, 2010, the BBC featured Yamaguchi in its comedy program QI, referring to him as "The Unluckiest Man in the World."[16]Stephen Fry, the host of QI, and celebrity guests drew laughter from some members of the audience in a segment that included examples of black humor such as asking if the bomb had "landed on him and bounced off."[17] A clip from the episode was uploaded by the BBC after the show, but was later deleted. A BBC spokesperson told Kyodo News that "We instructed our crew to delete the file since we have already issued a statement that the content was not appropriate."[18] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCVc_x7MB8E
