BANGKOK: -- Although the Constitutional Court has voided the February 2 general election, political turmoil will continue to hit the country, according to a poll conducted by Suan Dusit Poll.

The finding was made between Mar 21-23 on 1,187 people throughout the country.

Dusit Poll asked pollsters what they thought Thai politics would be like after the Feb 2 poll was nullified and a new election is forthcoming.

The majority of 55.46% said they believed the political unrest will continue, citing unresolved political conflicts as reason, while 37.69% believe more trouble or political chaotic will escalate. Only 6.85% thought the unrest will ease.

Asked on the next general election to be called, 40.28% said they want the government and caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to think more carefully about the next election, while 30.37% said the government must strictly comply with the law, and 29.35% said the new election must be transparent and fair.

Dusit Poll also asked the people about what they want to tell the ruling Pheu Thai Party, the majority of 51.43% said the party must adhere to the people’s interests, while 26.68% said it shall be sincere in making campaign promises, and 21.89% said new faces with knowledge and ability should be allowed by the party to contest the election.

For the opposition Democrat Party, 49.71% say they wanted the party to respect and listen to opinions from all sides, while 28.59% wanted the party to select suitable candidates to run in elections.

Might be too much to ask of PTP, complying with the law isn't their strong suit.

seems everybody wants honesty and fairness...........until they are given a place at the trough
