Border crossing at Songkran

Featured Replies

I am visiting Chiang Mai over Songkran, but need to make a border crossing on or before the 14th April.
Ive done this trip before via motorbike, but obviously not safe at this time.
Looks like most minibus services are shut over this period (from the 11th to 16th apparently??).
Does anyone know of minibus services that would run at this time?
Or maybe a private hire vehicle?
Or a bus?
Thank you for any suggestions!

Ever what you do you need to do today as most forums of public transport are booked solid over this period.

We hired a car last year and were very glad we didn't go on the bike. Everyone was having a great time, good fun as long as we closed the windows on time. I would advise you book the car now if that's what you decide. Set off early and make a day of it, I'm glad we did.

Be the change that you wish to see in the world.

Go before the 12th.

11 at the very latest but as that's a Friday you might already see increased traffic. So I'd shoot for the 10th.

Thanks for the replies.
Have decided to take a short flight out of Thailand this week instead and make a mini break out of it, to save the hassle and worry of attempting it during songkran.
Thanks again to the three that replied..lol.
