Our new LG Hoover ( 1500 W. ) is getting very hot in a very short time and then turns itself off . We have to wait for it to cool down and start again. Sometimes the operatingtime is no longer than two minutes.

Anybody know what to do about this or some hints to let it run longer ?

Thanks in advance.

I'd advise you to take it back to the shop, it definitely shouldn't be doing that.

Okay not being a smart arse, just from one similar problem I observed in the past. The vaccum bag has been emptied?

Our Samsung does the same. Check any filters (wash in necessary) and change the bag if paper. I replaced the "cloth" bag for paper chuck away type.

Why not go to the LG Service Centre on Bumrungburi Rd inside the moat. It is easy to find on your left, just after the second moat crossing. I took a mobile there and they were very helpful and quick. Take your warranty card that you got when buying the vacuum cleaner to show how new it is.

Theres a blockage/restriction somewhere or the belt is jammed up.

Agree. Visually check the hose and attachments to ensure you can see light along their lengths. The new cartridges have a movable arrow, ensure it is centered.

These newer vacuums do tend to heat up quickly regardless. I don't like this, as an engineering design factor they all should be designed to run cold unless obstructed. Be thankful yours has a fail safe cutout.

Most of these vacuum cleaners become very hot during operation.

Is the OP standing the vacuum cleaner on it`s end where the air is blown out? As this will cause the vacuum clearer to overheat.

Always lay the cleaner on it`s base, supported by the wheels. Otherwise, probably best to have it checked at a service centre, could be anything.
