insurance companies are good in collecting money from us, but when it comes to paying out, you can go find & read the small prints of exclusions for your claim

"those who wish to help child beggars should instead contact the authorities so that the children could be rescued and placed in formal welfare facilities."

Another catchy statement written by people who have never been in Thailand. "Contact the authorities"? "Formal welfare facilities"? Calling the writer stupid is an insult to stupid people....

Don't give them a few baht. Have them return empty-handed so they can be beaten and worse....

IDIOTS!!! Five minute solutions to problems a thousand years old. Next they will claim to be raising awareness, which means fund raising and doing nothing to help.

I beg to disagree with Torrens54. The Mirror Arts Foundation is a small NGO in Thailand and does survive on donations to them. Many beggars are taken to different places by some agent - whether they be parents of the children themselves or otherwise. The truth is that these adults know that Thais have a soft spot for poor, defenseless children and are more likely to part with 20 baht or more to buy things from children than they would if the beggar was an adult. I feel very strongly about the child exploitation that is happening. These kids should be in bed, reading school books instead of having made to earn a living for their parents or handlers. By continuing to give beggars money, you only perpetuate a BAD thing. It MUST STOP! Child beggars should by controlled by Thai Social Services or some organization like that.

Please spare us from the self-righteous likes of the Mirror Foundation.

Maybe they think the Insurance Company should donate what it is spending on the advert to THEM, so they can pay all of their "Paid Staff."

Is EVERYONE at the Foundation Un-Paid?

I will concede that they have a point, in that "some" of the begging kids might be being "used" by gangs but as someone has already pointed out, you don't need to give them MONEY... Give them FOOD and Water.

Don't begrudge the Insurance Company, the Advertising Agent and the TV Stations a living. If they and all other business enterprises "go-bust" then there will be No One left to donate to outfits such as the Mirror Foundation....Reflect On That, if you will.
