Max Snax pies at Rimping

Featured Replies

Picked up a few of these meat pies yesterday. Beautiful. Dunno who owns this company, but they are far, far better than anything else out there.

Thanks, I'll give them a try. Have been buying the Australian, "Four and Twenty" brand which are excellent but way over-priced, even for imported food.

Also a word of warning about the Checkout- Chix at Rimping Airport. In the past, they have been very good BUT the current batch appear to lack any common sense. Example: Expensive, Imported Frozen Pies, just get tossed in the bottom of the bag and then they'll try and stick cans of other products on top of the pies. This has happened a few times of late and when you try to explain that it isn't a good idea, you get a Blank stare.

I've always been a fan of Rimping but the past couple of years, the service has been getting pretty average! Hope they can fix these problems.

Why would he need to speak the lingo.

I mean, back home, those checkout chicks are all multilingual experts..... oh.

But don't get in the way of a Thaivisa grumble! What would this place be like if there weren't people jumping in on topics about pies to say the checkout girl packs the pies wrong?

Oh.

Thanks, I'll give them a try. Have been buying the Australian, "Four and Twenty" brand which are excellent but way over-priced, even for imported food.

Husband was a maintenance fitter at Four 'N' Twenty for 12 years. Let's just say you couldn't pay either of us to eat them. Despite the horror stories he told me, I still was partial to their jam doughnuts a couple of times a year.

Bought by Simplot and now owned by a small company in Bairnsdale (last we heard), seeing the closure of the biggest bakery in the southern hemisphere. The price of having a huge plant occupying very desirable and valuable land on the fringe of a capital city, but the announcement of the sale was very bady hashed and the redundancies fantastic. Payouts were far, far more than the American union-buster Mr Simplot would have liked, but he was glad to be rid of it because of the trouble he'd had trying to implement very harsh changes, all which were stopped by the very strong union there.

Be the change that you wish to see in the world.

I am glad we cleared that up.

That's surprising to hear. The ones I had were <removed> magic. Good meat, just the right seasoning and a perfect crust. It's the only brand I'll be buying in future.

http://www.ladypie.com . In Phuket there is an Aussie lady who makes amazing pies. Quality meat etc. Looking at their web site, Rimping sell them.

Not sure I would call Lady Pie - amazing. Nice pastry, small amount of filling - last time I bought in Villa Market the Aussie Pie (mince pie) was 120 baht. Plenty of other pie producers out there in Thailand. Yorkies in Pattaya, another called Driscoles (some name like that). I prefer the pies made by an English Lady - Sheila's Pies in Patong. But the lady who made the best home made pies moved away from Phuket a few years ago - a sad loss for me as I enjoy eating meat pies.

From I hear you have Sausage King pies up in CM. Need to try them some day. Next time I travel up to CM.
