Police believe 'Ko Tee' still in the country as hunt continues
The Sunday Nation

BANGKOK: -- Crime suppression police believe a Pathum Thani red-shirt leader who faces an arrest warrant for alleged lese majeste is hiding in the Kingdom.

Deputy commander of the Crime Suppression Division Colonel Prasopchok Prommoon said his unit had contacted immigration police and found no information indicating pro-government group leader Wuthipong Kotthammakhun, aka Ko Tee, had left the country.

He said that after the court-approved arrest warrant was issued, police watched the video clip of Wuthipong giving an interview to the foreign media in which he committed the alleged offence.

Prasopchok said police also searched Wuthipong's Red Guard radio station and his house in Pathum Thani, looking for him.

The arrest warrant had been circulated online in the police department's information system nationwide and Wuthipong would be arrested when located.

A person found guilty of lese majeste, according to Article 112 of the penal code, is subject to three to 15 years' imprisonment, with a statute of limitation of 15 years.

An arrest warrant has also been issued for Ekkapob Luara, aka Tang Acheewa, for alleged lese majeste offence over a speech he gave at a red-shirt rally last year.

Pheu Thai spokesman Anusorn Iamsa-ard said the government was sincere in taking legal action against anyone insulting the monarchy.

However, Anusorn said the Democrats should not pretend to forget that Suthep Thaugsuban - the former Democrat Party secretary-general and now the main leader of the anti-government People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) - had said he would claim sovereign power.

Anusorn said the comment should be deemed lese majeste, too, and a Pheu Thai member has already filed a complaint with police against Suthep, in addition to the insurrection charge he already faced.

Suthep announced on the PDRC rally stage at Lumpini Park last week that if the caretaker government led by Yingluck Shinawatra was ousted and the anti-government movement gained "sovereign" status, he would seek royal endorsement for a new prime minister.

Another PDRC leader Thaworn Senneam, a legal expert, said Suthep's remark had nothing to do with lese majeste.

Thaworn said the government should investigate the alleged plot to topple the monarchy in 2010 as Wuthipong was allegedly involved in the plot then.

Department of Special Investigation director-general Tarit Pengdith dropped an investigation in the alleged plot, saying the allegation was groundless.

Tarit is now a member of the Centre for Administration of Peace and Order, which operates under the Internal Security Act.

A group of people in Chon Buri called "Pattaya People Love King" filed a complaint yesterday against Wuthipong and called on police to take the case seriously.

Group leader Trin Kiucharoen said the local police should be able to help investigate as Wuthipong used to visit Pattaya many times.

Much as I dislike suthep, no he didn't say this.

I am glad about that, for awhile there I thought Suthep had lost the plot.

I believe Suthep is still in the country too and there's a warrant out for his arrest as well. So we're all waiting for the police to make this arrest as well.

The problem is that lese Majeste and defamation charges trump murder anytime of the day in Thailand.

I made a comment about our Bess in UK and was hauled over the coals on this TV blog site , so some take it real seriously, wonder we are allowed to comment on this subject, its called free speech and democracy , until it doesn't suit them.

This frenzied "Let's get this guy" stuff reflects the fact that Ko Tee is radical in his politics, challenging not just the Elitists but sometimes the official United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship..Indeed, the official red shirts have been quick to dump Ko Tee.

Army boss General Prayuth Chan-ocha hates Ko Tee, and was once said to have set assassins in search of him.

Getting Ko Tee has considerable benefits for the Elitists and their anti-democrat movement. The police have come under pressure to get him as quickly as possible.

Basically, they want to eliminate him and others, who are most likely to cause problems for them, when they press their 'creeping coup' to its' conclusion.

I think you are barking up the wrong tree Fb. He is most likely to cause major problems for the PTP and the red shirt leaders if he gets ticked off at them and spills the beans on them. Also can you elaborate on Gen Prayuth setting assassins in search of him? Any proof like maybe a link to an article or who was the person that "once said" it?

Naaaah, just a misleading cover-up on Thaksin's behalf. Thaksin controls every inch of Thailand's police force...

Arrest warrants to man hunts and bounty. That's the way to settle things to mislead the international public that Thailand is doing someNOTHING, when in reality They don't give a damn, Mai pen rai, people will just forget about,...

... Which reminds me what happened to that Karen girl's violent foster parents? Are they caught yet? No?... Did anybody care?,... No,... <-same procedure: Arrest warrant-bounty-manhunt-case closed-nobody in Thai authority gives a damn-everything forgotten...

Robert Amsterdam is being very quiet about this.

Had it been the Abhisit government chasing citizens on LM charges, he'd have been up in arms.

Hypocrisy? You bet.

On the other hand, the elitists may want an occasional rogue like Ko Tee in the news to keep the high profile of the issue at stake and the "hunt" after him. If it weren't for folks like Ko Tee, they would have no one to chase. The elitists always need a whipping boy to keep their fire burning. Without a Thaksin, Yingluck, Ko Tee, or others reported on for years, there would be no news that would rally the army. The Thai army after all, has to earn a little of their salary chasing someone. They certainly aren't earning it in Thailand's south or the human and drug trafficking in and out of Thailand's borders. So they get propped up on the Ko Tee thing.

ko tee is an idiot and we all know the police let him escape over the border last time he was wanted so there is good reason to believe they have done so again. The best solution to this would be to give him 7 days to surrender or they will issue shoot on site orders, the cowardly little runt would absolutely sh*t himself as I am sure a lot of people would oblige them this for the 500,000 reward, couldnt happen to a nicer manbiggrin.png

Extrajudicial killing for someone accused of defamation? Even Suthep wouldn't call for that on stage.

Some people here seem to forget that we're talking about an anti-free speech law that pretty much every major human rights organization has criticized.

No he didn't say that at all whistling.gif (sarcasm) That's why he retracted that statement the next day, trying to downplay it - you people will not see the truth even if it hit you between the eyes.

Thaworn (ex democrat party deputy leader now in charge of PDRC thugs security guards) is referring to the totally discredited anti monarchy plot / mind map which was exploited by abhisit as yet more propaganda to demonise the UDD

Matichon reports that yesterday, CRES and army spokesman Col. Sansern gave a press conference that the red shirt leaders are part of a plot to overthrow the monarchy. Col Sansern states the red leaders are using false information with the intention of attacking the high institution which is loved and respected by all Thais. This is upping the ante of the protests to make them terrorism in their full form by making a connection with a person close to the institution.

BP: A new definition of terrorism it seems.

Then Col. Sansern distributed the below hand-out to journalists

In case you think this is some little military project that the government is not aware of, the lead for the Matichon article is this quote from Abhisit when he asked about just after Col. Sansern’s press conference (they are both at the 11th infantry regiment).

He responded by stating “The truth is that this movement on this subject has been happening for a long time in the various media, but there are various connections. Now, CRES can much more clearly see the network and further action must be taken,” said Abhisit

Abhisit states it is necessary to create an understanding amongst the people that this problem is occuring.

BP: Right out of the PAD’s playbook. So how far will the government push this?

delirium1.jpg

Academic Suthichai Yimprasert of Chulalongkorn University was one of those named, had his house searched and was taken to an army base for questioning. He started proceedings to sue abhisit and CRES but stopped them when the army spokesman Col. sansern backtracked on the allegations

“First of all, CRES at that time believed that there were a real attempt as a movement aiming to undermine the monarchy institution.

I was assigned to distribute this document to the media. Names appeared on the document did not necessarily mean they were involved in the movement to overthrow the institution, but on how they were related to each other. We only distributed it and let the public decide what to believe.

In the document, we just described how they were related on which roles. For example, some were related as co-owner of a business. This was not to say that all of these people were related as the movement [to overthrow the monarchy]. However, because of the politicization of the media, causing public to decide and believe, people having names on the mind map were affected.

Matichon stated that Col. Sansern referred to the chart of the network to overthrow the monarchy and Col. Sansern seems to state now he was misinterpreted.

And now this Dem/PDRC idiot is going to try and push this propaganda again - desperate acts by suthep and his goons trying to manipulate the Thai populace using the Monarchy

defamation, is that what you call telling the reds to attack Thailand starting a civil war, calling for a seperatist state for the reds and demeaning the monarchy, interesting. No wonder the reds are simply too silly to realize what is happening with comments like this coming from them, this isnt about free speech, its about trying to start an armed conflict for thaksins benefit.
