Popular Post Lite Beer Posted April 13, 2014 Popular Post Posted April 13, 2014 Thaksin pleas for unity, peace BANGKOK: -- Fugitive ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra sent best wishes to the Thai people on the occasion of the traditional Thai New Year and pleaded for unity and peace in the country. In the message broadcast on digital TV Channel 4, Thaksin said the current situation is quite chaotic because “rule is not rule, law is not law, and those who have duties to provide justices do not perform justly, thus turning the country to chaos. He said it was a pity when the good culture of Thais having hospitality towards one another has been destroyed by such injustices. He recalled that previously Thai people would help each other but today this culture has vanished and replaced by aggressive gesture instead.Beating, mud slinging and lying are all what happened today, he said.He said he wished to see unity back to the people, to the country and would like everyone to forget the past and live for the future. He wished that the Thai New Year would be the day for the Thais to be more faithful, sincere, and to love each other so as to bring back peace and hospitality tothe people. He said he would like that the water splashing would drive and wash away all evils from the societies, and truth will return to those who always lie about others. Popular Post GeorgeO Posted April 13, 2014 Popular Post Posted April 13, 2014 That he has the temerity to believe that he is endowed with sufficient status to make announcements to the Thai people is just beyond belief ... and then to add insult to injury, he makes a thinly-veiled attack on the judicial system for carrying out its duty...!! I think that these words will make many Thai peoples' stomachs turn, particularly the struggling farmers...! Furthermore, how come Channel 4 is allowed to broadcast such statements from a wanted criminal with such impunity? 45

Popular Post rabas Posted April 13, 2014 Popular Post Posted April 13, 2014 Unity and peace can be achieved in Thailand almost instantly if Mr. Thaksin removes himself and his family permanently from politics, apologizes to the Nation for teaching political division and hatred for his own personal gain, and demands that the more developed parts of the country never again ignore the rural areas, so that no one else can ever do what he has done. After peace is established, then I hope all Thai will begin to take an active roll in reducing the corruption they have long believed was acceptable. They should know by now that it is not. Then my family and I can live here in peace and quiet. 23

Popular Post GuestHouse Posted April 13, 2014 Popular Post Posted April 13, 2014 He's not calling for peace and unity - he is questioning and undermining the rule of law. This should not come as a surprise to anyone, he regards himself to be above the law, he established a political party to secure his position above the law and he now wants the actions of that party when in government to be above the law. The man is a convicted criminal on the lam. What is he doing being allowed to speak to the nation of TV? 19
Popular Post Rich teacher Posted April 13, 2014 Popular Post Posted April 13, 2014 Just imagine the progress that could have been made if the jealous & spiteful elite hadn't turned on the best PM Thailand has ever had. Instead we have had 8 years of hatred & mayhem, with no end in sight. It wouldn't have mattered if it was Thaksin, or any other leader that had tried to prise the power away from the traditional power base, they would have ended up receiving the same fate. 10

Popular Post JohnThailandJohn Posted April 13, 2014 Popular Post Posted April 13, 2014 None of these problems he refers to would be happening if he kept his mouth shut and went away. In fact had he done this after he fled, he'd be back now. Regardless of any good or bad he has done for Thailand and Thais in the past, the only thing he does now is divide the country. It is not about policies of Red vs. Yellows that are causing such a great divide but simply him. He knows this too and that is what is so sad, whatever his motives it is not about the welfare of Thailand and it appears he could care less if his agenda damages Thailand and its people, including the ones who support him. 11

When you live here, it is difficult to be neutral, He has brought his own "kids on the block" down along with the country he loves. Most of the other people are has beans, whatever other colour Well before he went to Dubai he was dung stirring, and since then it has escalated and to this day his pleas to the people he loves are just prolonging the agony here. Actually you have to think how much the PTP destroyed the country.. rice scheme.. 700 billion fail.. now the first cars is failing and the tablets have failed too. So much incomptence is seldom seen in a government but you see it every day in the PTP. They seem to think they are above the law.. they are so stupid not to make any budget allocations before dissolving themselves. The PTP and their supporters make ordinary people look smart that is about the best they do. Those few red supporters on Thaivisa make us normal posters seem like geniuses. That is their one redeeming quality. But its only normal that a party that is that incompetent attracts people who are the same. 16
