Check AirBNB.com. Many more options for inside the city.

How short term is the rental? There are many, many hotel options in the city centre -- everything from 200 baht/night guest houses to luxury 5 star resort properties where you can rent a huge suite that could house a large family. But few condos, esp for rentals of less than one month. Why not just go to a hotel?

^ Yes. And many people who rent out on AirBnB will also do discounts for longer stays. (And 'longer' in this case is several weeks, or a month or more) Either the monthly rate will already be discounted on the site, or you can contact the renter and ask for a discount.)

The minimum stay on AirBnB is often 3-4 days, or a week depending on the renter. (If it's less than a week you're probably better off with a hotel anyway; that's what hotels are for.)

TripAdvisor also has a 'vacation rentals' section, but it's not as good.
