Oklahoma botches execution

Featured Replies

I wonder who suffered more.

Lockett for the 43 minutes he was unconscious...or his 16 year old victim, who he and two others kidnapped, took out to a country road where Lockett shot her two times and then forced his two buddies to bury her alive.

His death was justified, although really messy.

Maybe the authorities will get it right for the next one. If not, I won't shed any tears either way.

I didn't think American justice was based on the principle, If the victim suffered, the culprit should suffer. Maybe Sharia law wouldn't do the US any harm?

I think there's a clear cut distinction between by accident and by design. Having said that, why give the opponents of capital punishment any unnecessary ammunition, and why oh why continue to waste resources on keeping the murderer alive for fifteen years?

P.S I should always keep my reading glasses to hand as I thought the O.P read Obama botches execution at first glance.

What's wrong with putting an ounce of lead in the left ear?

Surely quicker and more accurate than these 'humane' methods? So's the guillotine.

As an American on my local forum said, Why does America have to do all these things so publicly? It would have been much better if the whole affair had not been publcised.

It takes time for the lawyers to run out of reasons why the scumbags deserve to live.

His number was up anyway so who cares except for the people who like to point fingers and tell others what is right or wrong without any knowledge or willingness to do it better.
