ManopY
Right, back home in England, Monday is Bank Holiday Monday. It's also called International Labour Day for other people. Thailand, try to understand May Day, Bank Holiday. Yes, up the workers, remember, the ruling elite are controlling and manipulating YOU. They will always try to exploit you with their capital. All of us, "the people united, will NEVER be defeated". And if you're not part of the ruling elite, if you're not part of the richest 5 or 10%, ask yourself, why are you supporting a system that will continue the exploitation ?? What are you talking about the ruling elite...? Thaksin is one of the richest man in the country! Before him, it was not perfect but everyone could have a piece of the cake! Now! Only him, his family and the people that submit them self to him can!!! I did not like the Military Junta before.... But if I have to choose, I prefer it to Thaksin rule!
RubbaJohnny
So on Tuesday nothing will have changed then ? Nothing to be surprised of. The ordinary "final" push... SamMunich
Oh you super-hyper-clever writers here on TV, who are so delighted at poking fun at Suthep's call to arms... OF COURSE he has to increase the priority, else nobody would think it is necessary to join. Final battle or what else, it doesn't matter, as long as it works out as intended. After all, it is to our advantage, if a government is finally elected AFTER reforms, that is not or at least less corrupt than the various Taksin-sponsored ones. Even though MY personal oppinion is, that we don't need new laws and regulations, we need another and incorupted police force and (at least at the lower levels) justice staff and judges, who can not be bought. All laws are useless, if the entity to enforce them is useless... as the local police force. Why not make Chuwit the new Minister of the Interior. He at least knows how to deal with corrupt police. And if a new law is really needed, how about a law, that allows to dismiss without any compensation policemen found to be corrupt. Eventually this will work, slowly first, but then faster and faster. They will always be bickering. Are you talking about all the people being united such as they are in North Korea. They are so united that they voted 100% the same for their leader. That is all the people being united.

My two Salueng Well for the most part good ideas. How ever it makes no difference how honest the police are if there is no real punishment. Also the police should be completely separate from the government. Neutral makes no difference who is in power. Well I can dream any how. I know it is not going to happen in my or my children's generation perhaps the grandchildren.

Because everybody wants this country, that we all love, to go forward and get rid of the vermin, holding us back. GOOD LUCK to you and your supporters. Suthep, you have already failed. Almost nobody is behind you (this is why you have failed). Only a bigoted, self loathing depressed and old racist few TVF members remain wilfully ignorant enough to still blindly support you. Everybody wants this nation to join the ranks of the worlds free and democratic nations and to be free of the military and plutocratic oppressors that have caused so much unnecessary suffering over the decades. You are making a broad, and very ignorant assumptive statement that "We are all behind you", and that "All TVF members are with you." Personally, I think the man is a power hungry megalomaniac, with delusions of grandeur who should have been put away for gross stupidity a long time ago. I'll give him credit for bringing people together to fight the amnesty bill, but after that, the "power and glory" went to his head, and he's become more deranged with each passing day. If you want to voice YOUR support for this idiot mad man, feel free, as that's you right. But NEVER presume that you speak for everyone in Thailand, and those of us on TVF, and you sure as hell don't speak for me. I'm guessing Costas may be a fisherman. He certainly knows how to set the bait. Yea but he fell in the pond when he cast his rod.
Popular Post Publicus
The supporters of Suthep, Abhisit, the military for a military dictatorship and the like are not ignorant. They are feudalists, committed feudalists. Too many are also fascists. "Fascism seeks to build a mass movement of everyone considered part of the national community, actively engaged but controlled from above, to seize political power and remake the social order. This movement is driven by a vision of the national community rising phoenix-like after a period of encroaching decadence which all but destroyed it.Such rebirth involves systematic, top-down transformation of all social spheres by an authoritarian state, and suppression or purging of all forces, ideologies, and social groups the fascists define as alien." http://kasamaproject.org/history/2076-8fascism-as-movement-ideology

You really think the millions of rural had even a crumb of the cake before ? not a thing. That is why TRT came to power in the first place. the rural indeed got a slice then and thats why they have re elected the same for the past 14 years. It is also what the main ammart does not wish to continue, that is to share the wealth and power with the growing new money, they would rather it stayed with only the old guard. There has not been one military ruling Junta that has improved the countries economy or the plight of the lower rural class prior or their prospects since way back in the early 19th century. Not one. If nothing else this current problem ( building since 2009 ) has highlighted the uselessness and pointlessness of yet another military takeover, Even Abhisit understands it is no solution, Suthep is not part of the future here he represents the past, as does those that wish to have a non elected rule. That is nothing but a gigantic step backwards. At the same time the current PTP need to realise the hand in the cookie jar and nepotism is no longer acceptable or wanted either. But all sides are guilty of nepotism and that at least it will always be here. IF there is an election it will probably take place with conditions of a move towards some reforms, I have no doubt that for ALL the parties that may end up in the driving seat the main aim is to allow as much pilfering and thieving as is acceptable. Its been this way forever and it will not change in the near future no matter who is in power. Thailand needs to accept and understand that to change a corrupt culture such as it is here it cannot be done all at once, it will take decades and patience. Many other things such as education of politics in school, social wealth restrictions where those that have cannot just walk away from a crime, above all responsibility must be taught in school and those students will in time become the agents of real and permanent change. It will take generations not months and in the meantime there must also be free elections and solid policy that parties can be judged on and booted out by the people in the next election when they do not deliver and not the military. People have to be taught it is one thing to make a promise but when broken they must hold the party responsible. Only by holding accountable an elected government will MPs and all parties understand ... you fail or mess up your out, you deliver your in again. At the same time an opposition MUST act like one and have policies of their own that interest the WHOLE of class society not just the rich or few. Also they must engage in elections and take a licking with grace until next time and run a proper campaign to garner votes and popularity with ALL classes not just the elite and minority. This is what the dems dont get This is what works and this is what Thailand had in the early 2000s, since then the rural poor HAVE had it better overall but it is failing fast, partly due to PTP and its bad policies and corruption but also by far too regular interference by the military and appointed and unelected interim governing along with an elitist attitude democrat party that does not appeal or seem to want the support of the vast majority which are the rural poor. Only by compromise and election can things move forward, that means no one gets everything they want but it does mean they get some of what they do want. No one loses but no one gets all their own way either. It will take a long time but all sides must be patient and stay the course. Something no one in politics here understands or has grasped Personally I think that some (Suthep ) would rather gamble to win all or take everything down than share and move forward, but that it Thailand all over, if it continues in the all or nothing vein it will mean a lot more bloodshed and a lot more of what we have seen to come. The military juntas before did really charming things like napalming northern villages they regarded as renegade, machine gunning protesters in the streets and much more. Please read a little Thai history before you post again. And "everyone" did not have a piece of the cake. One of the primary reasons Thaksin is so popular is because he spread the cake a little further and it wasn't just on offer in the central and southern parts of the country. You may not like Thaksin, and many people who think Suthep is batshit crazy (as I do) do not either, but just making things up (as you are), is less than helpful.

Then they will hold the mother of all wars against the government. Why wait almost two weeks for your victory. Why not now. Why? because he knows he can't win without the court or the NACC making a ruling otherwise it will be the same old thing. Sitting in the park making speakers to a few hundred people and his army of armed guards. He can not win on his own. Now how many of you faithful Suthep supports here on TV will join the rally? I don't expect to see you here running your mouths behind a keyboard. I except to see you blowing your whistlers and cheering your great leader in battle. If you are real supporters that is. But I doubt it most of you are fake old man hiding behind a screen and keyboard.

I think Suthep will find that a lot of people also have something to do on each of the coming "final pushes" - he is a complete fruitcake.
