Anyone Know What This Plant Is Called?

Featured Replies

My wife was given this potted plant last year. Nice green colour, didn't seem to do anything much except get bigger :D

Now it's had babies, millions of them. The leaves have what look like flowers along the edges, they are actually tiny but fully formed plants complete with roots.

They drop off, blow around a bit, then take root, everywhere :o

I've never seen anything quite like it before, amazing.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Can't help you with the name, but it really looks amazing. Hope somebody knows the name, because I want one!!!

My wife calls it kwam tai ngai bpen

The translation is something like "it will die with the leaf upside down".

They look nice but you may regret having planted a few in the garden once they have blossomed.

That really IS a cool looking plant :o Will have to see what I need to start planting and potting in Phuket soon!

Hi Crossy

The boss lady tells me it is กุหลาบหิน gulub hin (my phonetic spelling) translated as stone rose.

Have one which thrives in poor soil, the little plantlets root themselves when knocked off and it does not appear to be a problem at the moment after 3-4 years.

TBWG :o
