High Pressure Water Cleaners - Zinsano or Karcher ?

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a good water cleaner but I dont want to spend a lot of money so i found a shop selling Karcher K 2.300 110 bar 1400W price 3500 baht ( very good price HomePro same model over 5500!!) or Zinsano Andaman 120 bar 1600W price 3990.

Which one would you buy ?

Thanks

First of all I think Karcher is superior in quality over Zinsano.

Secondly, you need to look at the label on the back of the pressure cleaner as it will show a second pressure rating and the flowrate

The higher the number of the nominal pressure rating and the flowrate the more the better it will clean.

At homepro they currently sell the Zinsano Atlantic 130 Bar at 5990 Baht, which I consider a good price for that machine.

I think both cleaners you mention have a nominal pressure rating of 80 bar, while the Atlantic is rated at 110 Bar.

+1 on what JesseFrank said.

Flow rate is the #1 most important spec..

You can adjust the "working pressure" simply by varying the spray distance, but there's no way to make it flow more water....

Zinsano parts are easily available here, don't know about Karcher, and trust me you will need parts no matter which one your choose

Have had to buy parts for both brands so you might want to take that into consideration before you choose

Common Karcher replacement parts are stocked by the official distributor: ktw.co.th (make sure you call them for better prices than what's on their website).

I also wanted a few specialist accessories they didn't have in-stock (the Wintergerden cleaning kit, and an extra-long extension pole to reach my 5M high atrium glass), and they special ordered it for me in 4 weeks. Great service.

As for needing parts, the part that always goes first is the pressure hose - my previous Zinsano needed a new one every 6 months or so - my current Karcher's hose is still fine after 28 months.

Just googled, both have 360l/hr max flow rate, so you won't notice any perfomance difference between them. Normally, you'd expect to pay more for a Karcher, so given the prices you have, I think the Karcher is a no brainer.

Yep I got 4 yrs out of a Karcher.....about to buy another one this month......

I've had a Zinsano since late 2011 and have used it heavily...still working fine. Since Zinsano is sold all over Thailand parts/repair should be easy. I had a Karcher gas powered clearner when living in the States...it was OK but broke several times.

Seven years ago I purchased a Karcher K4.98 130 bar pressure sprayer from HomeWorks and it has served my family and my wife's family in the village very well. It has not needed any repairs. I've seen the Zinsano Atlantic model for 5690 baht and the Zinsano Caspian Pressure Washer for 7590 baht in Buriram at Ruangsangthai Hardware. That Buriram Builders Merchant is a repair location for Zinsano pressure sprayers with parts for several models in stock in the tool repair department. It might be worthwhile for the OP to check with shop he found that has lower prices than Homepro, for other Zinsano Pressure sprayers or slightly larger Karcher power sprayers. My personal experience was that while the Karcher power sprayer was not cheap, it certainly has proven to be able to withstand use by village relatives. I have not had the need for a repair location in Buriram for the Karcher Power Sprayer so I can't cite any repair costs.

In post 9 I mentioned I bought a Zinsano in late 2011 with no problems with it since. The specific model is the "Andaman" as shown in kamalabob2's image above.

I noted actual repairs being done in Buriram Province of the Zinsano Amazon High Pressure Washer Sprayer at the tool repair department of Ruangsangthai Builders Merchants. I had bought some floor wax at the Buriram HomePro and picked up the July 17th through August 6th HomePro sales catalog which showed "sale" prices of Zinsano VIP pressure washer at 16,900 baht but in Buriram at a local family owned store it is in stock at 11,999 baht. The Zinsano Amazon is on "sale" at the Buriram Homepro for 2590, marked down from 4350 baht. What a surprise it is listed for 2250 baht everyday at Ruangsangthai, The normal price at HomePro of the Zinsano Artic power washer is 6350 baht, but it is now on sale at 4590. Yet the normal discount price at the family owned store for the exact same Zinsano model is 4270. I am of the opinion that the OP will find fair prices on Karcher or Zinsano high pressure water clears if he compares a high volume, low overhead family owned hardware store to a "chain store", which have color brochures listing "sales". Just as important as genuine discount prices, is which store has an actual repair department with staff trained by the manufacturers so you can get your power tools and garden tools repaired on site in a timely fashion. I am of the belief that every province has one or more family owned appliance shop and builders merchants shop which compete aggressively in price and with superior repair service to heavily advertised chain operations.

I am a big fan of Ruangsangthai, if you call and ask for Pichai you can make an appointment with the boss who speaks English very well.

Hi

I have a zinsano "atlantic' power washer and it needs repairing, but so far I can not find anyone to repair it, in either udon Thani or Khon Kaen which both to where I live.

I went to home pro where I bought the machine and they said it will have to go to Bangkok and take about a month!

Does anyone know of anywhere in Udon or khon kaen I can take it for repair.

Thanks

I have seen both Karcher and Zinsano High Pressure Washers being repaired in Buriram at Ruangsangthai Builders Merchants. I was told by the woman in charge of the tool repair department that not all of the parts she would like to have in stock are ever made available to any dealer by the distributor of Zinsano or the Distributor of Karcher. However she is willing to have her staff attempt most any repair on a Zinsano Pressure washer or a Karcher power sprayer. She has the tools to open the machines and see if the components that have failed. Some Karcher or Zinsano high pressure water cleaners do in fact entail a boxed shipment to the respective service center in Bangkok. The owner of Ruangsangthai and the woman in charge of the repair department assured me they do everything they can to fix the item at the store and a trip to Bangkok is a last resort. The regional manager of Zinsano pressure washers will be at Ruangsangthai at one of the 32 vendor booths on February 13th through February 17th to demonstrate pressure washers and answer any questions in Thai or English from guests at the Buriram Home Show Expo. This week I bought my wife a Karcher Window Vac at Ruangsangthai in Buriram for considerably less baht than was quoted on the phone by KTW for the exact same Karcher cleaner. Slappy might call the distributor of Zinsano for the phone number in his province of the best repair facility for Zinsano pressure washers. Buriram can not be the only province with a proper tool repair facility which aims for same day tool repairs and the management can understand and speak English. Here is the location of the tool repair facility in Buriram that has fixed my power tools, lawn mowers and water pumps, brush cutters, hedge trimmer for several years.

Think I only paid 1500 for my Karcher on special at Thaiwadsadu (spelling?)... It's the smallest model but does a great job, no issues so far and used it last month for 2 days solidly doing all the concrete.

I reckon either will do for general cleaning, go for cheapest available.

Cornishcarlos: I seldom disagree with any forum members on thaivisa, but I take exception to your reckoning regarding pressure washers in Thailand. If you had never used a razor blade but bought a Gillette Sensor you might think that was a useful razor. But if you could buy a German made Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor you would be amazed at the difference in your experience. Yes the Gillette Fusion proglide which is made in Germany but sold in Thailand, costs more baht than the Gillette Sensor razor blades but the user experience is very different.

At any good Karcher pressure washer dealer or any Zinsano power sprayer dealer in Buriram Thailand you can test and try a pressure washer near the repair department and spray a job site concrete mixer or back up generator that is in the tool repair department. You need not put a pressure washer nozzle in some plastic box inside HomePro or Thaiwatsadu or Home Mart to test a Karcher pressure washer or Zinsano power sprayer prior to purchase. Buriram Makro or Buriram Big C are nice modern stores, but hardly the place to test a Zinsano Pressure washer.

So what is your point after all that waffle ?

I paid 1500 baht for a pressure washer that does the job I need it to do but you disagree with that !!

Buy what you like fella but don't try and tell me that my washer doesn't do exactly what I want it to do...

Hehe, right - there's no mistaking it works if you've seen it work for yourself :)

I think maybe what kamalabob was perhaps trying to get at is, there are differences as you spend more - e.g. had you bought a top-spec 600L/hour 160 Bar Karcher, with one of the attachments below, your 2 day job might have only been 2 hours (or less)..

akcjaT400.jpg

It's a trade-off though... money vs time, and 1500 Baht is pretty hard to beat!

I bought a Kruker. It works ok but the 6m hose advertised is only 4m so pretty useless for what I wanted. Worth checking this before buying!

Even 6M is pretty inconvenient - you'd be moving the machine all the time. You couldn't even wash a car without moving the machine... My Karcher has a 12M hose, and even then I find it a PITA sometimes wink.png

Today I dropped off a Canadian expats Zinsano ZNT 8.14 High Pressure Washer that has an induction motor at a repair center in Buriram. I noted the same Buriram Builders Merchants had a Zinsano Atlantic in the same tool repair center. The woman at the Ruangsangthai Hardware Store in Buriram who is in charge of the tool and lawn mower repair department speaks English was able to have her husband fix the Zinsano ZNT 8.14 absolutely free in less than hour as it was still under the one year warranty period. I departed the store prior to the completion of the repair on the Zinsano Atlantic which looked like it might not still be in the warranty period. I noted a Hitachi water pump being tested after a repair and it might be older than the five year warranty period. There must be similar family owned builders merchants who have an actual tool repair department with parts in stock, staff who can understand English and a policy of "rapid repair" in each province in Thailand not only Buriram Province. If Kannot is near Buriram he might bring his Zinsano Atlantic pressure washer to Ruangsangthai during the Home Expo as the Zinsano Sales manager for Thailand will be at the Expo. Certainly a product that is fixed on a daily basis at this tool repair center in Buriram. Seems they fix power washers seven days a week at this shop. Welpro welders are imported by the same company in Thailand as is Zinsano and I noted Welpro on the Buriram Home Expo sign.

There are less expensive brands of high pressure water sprayers often offered at Ruangsangthai in Buriram at a home Expo. There must be similar "Home Show"s here their is real competition among brands. I see two year warranties as a common marketing plan. The same sales teams go from Home Expo to another tool showcase in a different province.

I'm interested in getting the Zinsano VIP130 Pressure Washer. I want one that you can adjust the pressure at the unit and not by adjusting the lance ... also want the short gun that comes with it.And a foam attachment although that may be cheaper from Aliexpres.

So where can I get one from in the Bangkok/Nonthaburi Area please. I see an advert directtoshop.com is that HomePro. Thanks

Here's some prices: http://www.priceza.com/search?productdataname=zinsano%20vip130

However, I'm not exactly sure why you need pressure control on the unit itself? The easiest way to control pressure to the surface your washing is to just vary the distance from the lance to the surface being cleaned - i.e. simple hand movements - it's super effective, and no running back and forth :)

As for the foam attachment - what exactly do you mean here? If you are talking about a foam lance for washing cars there's really only one that will produce the thick blankets of foam you see on YouTube - the Autobrite brand one. There are vendors on the ThaiWasherCarClub website selling these. I have a small collection of cheap ones and not so cheap ones - none of them work like the Autobrite.

I've seen the Lazada price ... are they okay to deal with, I've heard some 'ifee' reports?

The VIP130 also comes with a very short nozzle so with that and the adjustable pressure at the unit it's also ideal for cleaning my aircon units. The gun handle water connection is also better placed on the VIP130 than on the V10 so making the overall length shorter ... there is not much distance between the top of my aircon units and the ceiling.

Autobrite ... I'll search TWCC. I've had my K4 Karcher for many years and now it doesn't want to work anymore and it's not just the start/run capacitor that's failed.

Generally speaking, when cleaning AC's you use a special lance - which is just a simple variable width nozzle (very similar to the nozzle on the Autobrite in fact)?
