New iMac bought in Thailand

Featured Replies

I purchased a new iMac in Thailand recently.

But on the computer the Apple logo has a bite in it.

Also, when i turn it on the Apple logo that appears on the screen seems to be bitten as well.

This bothers me and i am worried that i might be a victim of foul play and this product is a copy.

Please, elaborate

I'm sorry if you feel you are being short-changed.

I believe the official logo is missing a section to save on printing and manufacturing costs. It may also be a purposeful and yet subtle indication that portions of the user experience may not be as fulfilling as one wishes, that portions are missing, or that someone has been taking cheap pot shots at the product in question.

Where did you buy the iMac? I am sure you're ok. I purchased my iMac an Apple store in the US and the logo is on the hardware and during start-up as well as the icon for the "Apple menu" in the upper-left corner of the status bar. The official logo is attached.

I doubt you have a fake....if the store is an Authorized Dealer ...? You should have warranty card .... Yes or No?

have you tried doing updates and registration ?

The Apple logo does have a bite as shown CPBKK and Richcor's posts....
