Any idea where I can find quality camping and outdoor activity gear in Chiang Mai -- like stuff you'd find at REI in the US. I know it's wishful thinking but I'll take what I can get. New, not used. Thanks!

A few items can be found in the Archery Shop next to the golf course behind Wat Suan Doak. While limited in selection, what they do carry is high quality.

KSK, Central Department Store sporting good section.

Sports world in kad suan kaew has the largest selection of camping gear.

Sports world have plenty, none of it what could be called quality.

I'm amazed at all the great equipment that's probably made in China that you can't get here. Sad. I should have filled up a trunk at REI before moving here. 20/20 hindsight alas!

Yeah - me too....always had Coleman gas lanterns & Gas stove on tap in the US.....
