Tell them you cannot join also internet not allowed in there policy! And then you cannot join Thai visa!... You seem to have them confused with some other sects. The big mass weddings are the Moonies (Unification church). Mormons (Latter Day Saints) are in no way restricted from talking with their parents, and have no restriction on internet either - in fact they have their own website. I was not interested, but my friend talked to them in Thai and she was impressed with their Thai language skills. I am confused, an Atheist doesn't believe in a man in sky, therefore if they don't believe in a man in the sky how can they believe in a little red man with horns and a pronged fork in the flames of hell....?....God and the Satan or opposites side of the same coin... so how can they be Satanic...? First, when I was younger, I had the pleasure of teaching a young Mormon girl the joys of the missionary position (pun intended) and a few others as well. She never tried to convert me but did make me promise to be nice to the missionaries I might run into. I continue to keep that promise. The second reason is that I refuse to do intellectual battle with those that come unarmed. I took my first bible classes before they were born and while the teaching never infected me, it did give me a desire to learn more about religions in general and Christianity based religions in particular. Most of the Mormon missionaries are totally unprepared to discuss their religion or any other in any depth. They rely on talking to people that know even less about religion than they do. If giving some clever reply to these kids makes you feel good, go ahead. They are here in Thailand on a 2 year mission and are trained well before coming to Thailand or any other country to expect to be ridiculed.
