An M4 is a rifle, not a "submachine gun". It is not even an automatic weapon.

Sorry General Grant, you are 150 years out of touch. Google or Wiki it!!!!

The M4 is a short barrelled M16 A3 and DOES have a 3 speed gear box. i.e. Safe, semi, & full auto. That qualifies it as an assault rifle, a machine gun, or any definition of a rifle form weapon that shoots full auto!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They may not have been around in the US Civil war but they are right here & now for the UDD militia wanna-be's; trying to start a Thai civil war. Good it is out of circulation, and it's owner.

Correction, The M4 has selective fire options including semi-automatic and three-round burst (like the M16A2 and M16A4), while the M4A1 has the capability to fire fully automatic instead of three-round burst (like the M16A1 and M16A3). Now, I hope this bring to an end the discussion on what an M4 is.

Why do these 'terrorists' from both sides always seem to leave their ID cards with the guns? Very strange.

So that is easy to determine which side the weapons are being hidden by of course, reduces the need for too much investigation.

Throw in an anonymous tip and anybody can be a hero.

More weapons with links to UDD seized in Lamphun

LAMPHUN, 27 May 2014 (NNT) – Police and military forces have confiscated weapons during a raid in the northern province of Lamphun.

Thirty soldiers and 20 police officers have raided a longan orchard in the province after receiving tip-offs indicating that the area is a training ground for the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) guards.

Five men at the scene fled the orchard during the raid and one of them among the group was caught after a brief manhunt.

Four homemade rifles, bullets, bullet-proof vests, and UDD logos were found at the scene.

More suspects are set to be arrested by the military after a more in-depth probe is launched.

Last week, three separate raids across three provinces including Bangkok found a large amount of weapons, explosives, and ID cards belonging to UDD guards.

The UDD has disavowed any links with the weapons caches seized in the raids.

I don't think any reasonable person would complain if child killers are handed a death penalty. Perhaps that is what is needed - few death penalties so some people finally get through their thick heads that terrorism against civilians isn't 'lucrative' business any longer. Of course, before they're sentenced to death, they must be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. I wish continuous success to Thai army and Thai police in their fight against red terror cells across the country.

It must have been a set up by the anti government people. Now who would leave his ID around like that. What goes around comes around.

Yet you fully believed the PDRC ''forgetting'' their cache of weapons in Lumpini...

One of the items lovingly amassed by Ms Chantana in her prize collection of self-defence weapons was a WW2 era M3 submachine gun, or "grease gun", which the authorities are now saying was used in the attack on a Trat market that left two small children dead, among others killed and wounded. A grease gun is chambered for pistol ammunition, originally .45 ACP but later some were chambered for the standard NATO 9mm pistol round. In .45 ACP it comes with a 30 round clip that traditionally could only be fired on full auto. In 9mm the clip must be 50 or 60 rounds. It's a great and easily concealable gangster weapon for spraying at close range and was indeed the successor to the Al Capone era Tommy Gun.

Any shell casings left behind would be marked very differently than those left by a pistol, not to mention the greater quantity, and there can't be many grease guns in Thailand. Similarly the rifling marks on the bullets would be very distinctive. Thus, if the authorities' assertion is correct, ballistics will be very conclusive. Since Ms Chantana's arms cache was discovered under martial law, she could be facing a death penalty case in front of a court martial, defended by a military lawyer assigned by the judge advocate, if the ballistics are confirmed. that prospect might conceivably loosen her tongue!

It could just be that the loose tongue has already played a part in finding these three http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/729316-two-men-arrested-under-suspicion-of-pdrc-protest-stage-attack-in-trat/

Unfortunately one got away and killed a ranger however there is a good (certainty) chance that his identity is known.

There will likely be more information from the 2 who were arrested, don't suppose there will be a lot of love, kindness and compassion for them after one of the arresting officers mates was killed.

Only a matter of time before they get 'ample' amounts of evidence against whoever it is who funds the red shirts.

Playing out like a James Bond movie, with a bit of luck we're into the last 10 mins :)

The soldier who was killed was also from Prayuth's mother unit, the Taharn Prarn, who dominate the army's top brass. I doubt many life insurers would be taking on his policy at this point.

Whereas your "facts" are true are they? Like where you keep on lying about no attacks on "red shirt rallies"?

You forgot your tagline.................

<EDIT> - Prove that I lied because you haven't shown me a single attack on a red shirt rally site yet.

Googling away looking for thee attacks?

You won't find em..There are none.

Like I said;

The PDRC have anti grenade netting and sand bags

Red shirt rallies - Nothing. No sand bags. No anti grenade netting. Only "3rd hands" enjoying the speeches.

How did you go with one Fab4?

Find any?

Sorry, I don't spend every waking hour on this forum rebutting your false allegations about me lying. Only just found this pile of bilge you call posts.

I'd already posted about this ages ago. Three UDD supporters were killed at the rally in the Ramkhamhaeng Stadium.

Or did you forget these images

Once again I look forward, in vain, no doubt, to you apologising for calling me a liar. You're very quick to call someone you disagree with, a liar. I only hope for your sake that you don't carry that attitude out into the real world.

Tell you what, to save yourself further embarrassment check very, very carefully before calling me a liar again, OK?

Again, this is not attacks at rally sites. How many attacks at red shirt rally sites with grenades and bullets fired into rally sites while red shirts are listening to speeches. Inside rally sites. None. Thus hop ant grenade netting and no sandbags.

Doesn't matter now anyway the General has put a stop to the red shirt attacks on PDRC rally sites so the anti grenade netting and the sand bags have come down.

Remember…I was talking about rally sites. Not going to rally sites. Not standing out the front of rally sites. Inside rally sites.

Show me a pic of a red shirt rally site with anti grenade netting and sand bags. Can't and won't because there is not any.

Those buses are not in a rally site with the occupants sitting there listening to a speech or sleeping. You just can't admit it or you don't understand.

One more\…..Inside a rally site.

The incidents around Rajamangala Stadium happened after many days of escalating conflict between the Red Shirts and the students and neighborhood people and erupted after Jatuporn taunted the students to a fight.

It was a brawl with nothing in common to the systematic hit and run terror attacks against anti-PTP protesters, independent agencies, courts, etc...

Yes, but that aside.

This went back about 15 posts. It came down to a justification of why PDRC rally sites used anti grenade netting and sand bags yet the red shirt rallies didn't. Why? Because the rally sites of the UDD never got bombed. Simple as that. He just cannot accept it and changes the scenario for some reason.

It is great that he can justify a bullet proof bus for red shirts. Wonderful, BUT I was not talking about bullet proof buses.

I was talking about……..ready Fab4……..anti grenade netting and sand bags at rally sites.

Another trip down memory lane and my response to you is a similar response you used on the weapons found in Lumpini park.

Of course you deny it. Typical response from UDD supporters. Does anyone expect any thing else?

My oh my Mango Bob. You really do wear have a belief structure that overrides facts.

Another UDD propaganda success story.

Touche sir, and my apologies perhaps my sarcasm was a tad subtle for you? In future I will be sure to add more emoticons for clarification. Of course it is easy to procure weapons in Thailand. Why bother going to Cambodia there is a huge stockpile on Koh Larn that anyone can shoot for starters. Why bother crossing the border???

News this morning that fugitive Red Shirt Leader Arisaman is linked to the owner of a house that Royal Thai Marines raided yesterday in Trat, where they found weapons and over 100 ping pong bombs.

The raid was conducted following the arrest of Somsak Poonsawad, who has been charged in the attack on the PDRC rally in Trat that killed two little girls.

Four homemade rifles

Shiver me timbers. This is less than the daily output at any Voc school. Have you ever seen these things? They fire one bullet, maybe.

Meanwhile the heavy armament has come from where exactly? Oh right, we can't talk about that.whistling.gif

The police, DSI, CAPO didn´t find in 6 month nothing.

Now the army is cleaning up since two days.

Bingo.

Isnt that amazing?

The police must be hating this now the military is in charge. They actually have to do police work now.

I would almost bet money, the RTP suddenly have many more leads, soon, on Who are firing grenades, killing innocents, including children.

Can only be a step int he right direction, be it a small one. Good to get these off the streets and out of the hands of peanut brains.

Reinforced by the arrest of the aforementioned Trat children killer coupled with today's news :

Warrants sought for nine over attacks on PDRC

Police will issue arrest warrants for nine people wanted in relation to violent incidents during the anti-government protest, Deputy National Police Chief Pol General Aek Angsananont said yesterday.

The incidents include grenade attacks that killed and injured many people, the shooting of a Ramkhamhaeng University student, clashes at Din Daeng and the brutal attack on a People's Democratic Reform Committee event in Trat.

Aek was speaking after a meeting of top police called by acting National Police Chief Pol General Watcharapong Prasarnrajakit, who wants investigations sped up.

Some 28 people were killed and more than 800 injured over the past six months.

The victims were mostly anti-government protesters.
