Anyone know where to buy wax?

Featured Replies

I need to wax my legs, bikini, etc, but from my shopping around the waxing prices here in Chiang Mai seem to be almost close to western prices. Wondering if anyone knew of a beauty supply store or someplace that sold the wax and accessories? The equivalent in the States would be like a Sally Beauty Supply or something. Thanks for any info! :)

They have something in the Body Shop (usually located in or near a Central).

Don't know how well it works though, never used it.

For legs you might like to look at laser hair removal as it is comparatively inexpensive in Thailand, that's what I did hence lack of need for leg waxing. (And I utterly lack the masochism required for bikini waxes....safety razor and nail scissors work just fine and painless.)

thanks Sheryl! i will check it out when i go by there. in the meantime after much internet searching i found a place called Robin Beauty on Soi 8 Moon Muang Rd. i read it is good and reasonably priced so i'm going to try that tomorrow.

unfortunately i've invested money into laser in the past with no success because, alas, my hair is blond. that's why i need electrolysis (and as an aside if anyone knows where one could find an electrolysist in T-land?....)

must be nice to not have to worry about hair! yes, bikini waxes are insanely self torturous pouring hot wax there and ripping it off! but i've found a product with 5% lidocaine (called "recticare") that lessens the pain by at least half!

good idea edwardandtubs. in fact, i went to Robin Beauty today and the lady there makes her own wax with sugar and limes. she did a great job, was quick and was very reasonably priced. (whole legs and underarms waxed for 600). for future reference, i highly recommend Robin Beauty and Barber. and for others looking for waxing in Chiang Mai, the area near soi 8 and 9 off Moon Muang Rd. seems to have a few places with good reasonably priced waxing -there was another place called Christine's waxing that seemed good as well.
