They not say anything about the weapons found in Khon Kaen from red shirts to be used in terrorist attack in Khon Kaen? The weapons found at Aksa road at the Red shirt rall y ? And the US and other countries will support this and recognize this government in exile .?I thought Thailand had already 2 years a government in exile in Dubai nothing news this

For your information If opposition attacks a junta which has taken over a country illegally with force you are not a terrorist but are considered a freedom fighter!

Karma is a bitch violence always invites more violence!

Ah, yes. Couple of countries on the African continent too, methinks.

If only - I very much doubt he will be willing to leave the current safe haven of Dubai - Africa has too many willing to do stuff for very little

What I meant - and did not communicate sufficiently - was that there have been governments in exile that have taken over in countries on the African continent. Not that TS would relocate to Africa.

I thought Thanks in already had a government in exile and now the Junta has stopped that.

Government in exile is a fantasy. Even so, I don't think I'd want my lawyer spouting off about it while I'm in custody of the military.

He made this statement last Thursday whilst be interviewed by Australian media, (ABC) his interviewed was beamed live into Thailand via the Australian network. The Thai Military have no power to stop the Australian government T.V station from broadcasting.

The banner should read "Thaksin and Yingluck the comedy duo appearing daily".

Yes indeed, and they will be a comedy duo, that is until the first foreign nation recognizes them Should the U.N., E.U., U.S., Japan or another major country recognize them as the rightful leaders of a government in exile, then the comedy will not be so funny for those military leaders who put themselves out on a limb. If they do indeed set up a government in exile then I think that the U.N. would likely be the first to recognize them and start sanctions against Thailand alt=wai2.gif width=20 height=20>

Why would the UN be the first to recognize them?

This story has it all....... re:

-Thaksin's intent to fight to the death, the Red's and his private army deaths, not him of course.

-Thaksin's growing madness.

-Slime Robert Amsterdam who earns money from Thaksin and other petty dictators and tyrants world wide, is the same man who Post quoted as saying the monarchy has to go, and in front of the Red Shirts camp a few days ago. Note that no reports of Reds condemning Amsterdam's comments, signaling Reds real intentions.

-America and its tv networks want their puppet Thaksin. Take names of the networks.

-American govt and biz interests want puppet Thaksin.

-Foreign news formerly dismissed as too few the thousands of protesters with whistles, but now credits a hundred as representative of anti coup feelings.

Robert slime "lawyer" to Thaksin says:

Lets see, where to set up a govt in exile? Gosh, maybe Somalia, uh maybe Nigeria with Mr. Goodluck, let me "think," where can Thaksin buy a spot.... oh oh, this is not as easy as it looks.......North Korea, nah too cold for him..... uh uh, let me get back to you on this."

Way way too much tolerated of Thaksin's madness. My reality tv show script is in development as per this msg.

Please do not say America and Americans want the puppet Thaksin. It's the corporate globalists stationed there.

Wishes in America for a coup there to save them from these kind of enforcing globalists are getting louder by the minute.

I can assure you that America has no interest in supporting your idiotic plutocratic , militaristic paradise chump. Our government has placed sanctions against Thailand for a reason, and us Americans support it. :)

So much for his ' I've quit politics' mantra. Note to self: never believe the man.

It would be irresponsible of him to allow this current dictatorship to continue their human rights violations unchallenged. He is far from perfect to be sure, but when given the choice between a quasi-corrupt politician and a violent military dictatorship, I'd pick the imperfect politician every time.

and were does that apply in this situation - you are way off topic because both of your descriptions are incorrect - you must be talking about N Korea or somewhere else - it certainly doesn't apply to Thailand

it stopped (and continues to stop) CNN and BBC as it tries to sweet talk the world into it's "we had to do it" monologue

Ahhh, that puts a different light on the matter. It was before Yingluck was put into "protective custody". Puts paid to theories that Thaksin was reacting to her detention or playing a pawn designed to keep Yingluck held for longer to arouse anger.

Water under the bridge.

Would they be self funded ? Or expect tax payers money?

May be Thaksin supporters will be expected to western union few thousand baht every month, after all 5 star hotels in Dubai are not very cheap , nor is shopping at prada

And for the last year at least Thailand has been run on the lines of Zimbabwe. 2 MUGS at the helm.

First of all any sanctions will not affect Thailand as much as you hope they will... Thailand is a VERY self sufficient nation.

Second, if you think the US is going to host this embarrasment of a government you have another thing coming, it is one thing to issue sterile statements and another to stand defiant and assist a possible civil war in a country that the US really needs to be on side with militarily.

The US needs Thailand more than Thailand needs the US.

Thailand could ride out sanctions for years pal. They don't export billions of gallons of oil or anything really that a country gets massive wealth from.

Rice?...... Plenty of countries will still buy it.

Thailand does NOT depend on the west as much as you have deluded yourself to believe.

Finally..... The army have only just started digging through the dirt, and I would assume in a month or so, they will have so much evidence of corruption and state sponsored terrorism on the lot of them, they will probably all find themselves in the international criminal court.

It won't be too long before the army can prove they have done the right thing to the world, and if Laos or Cambodia want to play host to them, then they ought to watch their own backs.

Much of what you wrote is true....though confining your argument to only the US weakens it a bit, I think. If the international community at large comes down on Thailand, it will be much more difficult to sustain. Few countries, in this interconnected world, are truly disassociated from the international community as a whole. Somalia, Iran, N Korea - are these models to emulate? One thinks not.

Strong international opinion does matter - whether that is the case here remains to be seen but it shouldn't be dismissed so lightly, IMO. Great discussion, btw.

This government will have more legitimacy than the military junta, hated, not endorsed, even the senate speaker thrown away as as body to appoint an interim PM.

This government will be a focus point for the opposition in the country, organising funds, equipment, printing publications.

And what if they are endorsed after a while?

And what if the second one, who escaped to the uk, endorses them, as the only hope of returning to thailand?

Governments on exile are known from ww2, de gaulle, czekoslavakian, polish and other governments in london

Would love to see a country endorsing a convicted criminal on the run and soon to be convicted sister on the run. Mind you convictions are not for political activities but for abuse of power and fraud

This is the goal. ^^

Highly unlikely, in spite of knee jerk boiler plate rhetorical flourishes from some governments.

Tend to agree with your assessment of the 'likelihood'....though I do think it's the basis for the 'positioning'. Now, if the Chinese were to become involved - different story.

Unlikely. Chinese diplomacy seems to be that they don't care who's in charge as long as they can get what they want.

The sooner a government in exile is formed the better. Denounce and reject all rulings of independence agencies and other courts. These rulings were premeditated and engineered to seize power from the people elected government. Hold the EC responsible for the failed 2 Feb election. This is also premeditated and engineered to seize power.

To protect democracy is to protect the ..... To protect the .... is to protect democracy. I don't think we are allowed to discuss this here.

And Thailand can move on if that happens .... how?

"It is understood Ms Yingluck and several former ministers now being detained plan to join the protester-led government."

".."We are unsure of her whereabouts because the military confiscated her mobile phones and those of her aides.".."

So how did Yingluck communicate her intentions?

They were communicate on her behalf as they always have been

Today they added Thaksin's son to list of those detained. Looks like the general has almost all the trump cards in his hand.

Don't think so

Where is the jack of diamond's

Jack of diamonds?

Let's see...

Queen of diamonds? Check. Detained

The Joker(Chalerm) Check. Detained

Deuce of spades(Jatuporn) Check detained

So I guess the jack of diamonds He's holed up in London

Maybe Kiribati or Pitcairn Island will give funny man T an office somewhere. They may not have a clue about Thai politics, but wherever T and his henchmen (and henchwomen) reside, lots of money gets spent. One condition, no singing 'My Way' or 'Imagine' anywhere but in the padded soundproofed room.

I was talking not about the country, but about number one, your beloved
