Oh! oops., are you a girl?

Oh! oops., are you a girl?

No, I'm a poof :o:D

I don´t do such things in the waters I swim in. Cos in the big lake you can´t see it. Better to take dump. It floats.

:o

Never had one of those worms swim up your "Pintoo" ? :D

I avoid foot-biting though, and toe-sucking and pretty much anything else to do with that area :D

There is a good reason why the Thais consider the foot to be the lowest, dirtiest part of the body !

Maybe they do things differently in your neck of the woods (jungle) though :D

Yeah... maybe something to do with the HUGE FLYING SAUCER that emerged from Lake Atitlan back in the '70's? :D

Check it out on Google.......... :D

well, each to their own.. .I won´t let you forget you said that though....

What - that I'm a poof or that I'm a fussy girl? The first is indubitably true. The second relies on the fact that the boyfriend bought me a duck for my birthday :D:o

I guess that you must be speaking for yourself, because we ain't girls. :D

I can think of a few things one could do that would FORCE him to post... but they are not very nice and would probably result in my having to warn myself. :o

Lay it on me SugarBall. Dead doesn't mean gone. :D

See how effective that was? :D

The threat of violent measures is always more effective than the violence itself. :D

I knew you'd come around to the Machiavellian way of thinking as time passes, Meadish! :D

I love espresso macchiati.

Not to get too off-topic but I've never heard of expresso macchiati? :o

Maybe I meant Latte. :ohttp://www.arikiart.com/coffee/espresso-expresso/

Macchiato

Macchiato comes from the Italian word that means "stained". Quite literally it is a short espresso with a mere stain of steamed milk foam added to it, one to two teaspoons max. Unfortunately, in America thanks to Starbucks, the word has been completely high jacked to stand for one of their flavored coffee drinks that is, as always, flooded with milk. Of course, multiple other coffee chains and shops have followed Starbucks lead so as to stay in the competition. Very few places believe they can compete by offering the original. To distinguish the true macchiato from the bastardization that has been popularized by Starbucks, you will find many coffee shops that will refer to a true machiatto as an "espresso macchiato".

I have to share a story I have of once ordering a macchiato at one of the "Dietrich" stores in Southern California. As always, I took up a position close to the so-called "barista" to supervise how they were going to prepare my coffee, knowing from experience that if I didn't do so, it would often not be made well. Sure enough, when she started to put in what should have been the very small measure of milk foam, she started shoveling in tablespoon after tablespoon of foam. I asked her to stop and start again, explaining that I wanted very little milk foam in the drink. She did so, and when it came to adding the milk, she proceeded to pile on the milk foam again. I practically yelled "Stop!" at her, to which she replied, "But it will taste so horrible without milk". That said it all; it was all about her and her taste in coffee. In her head she was making the drink for herself, not for me.

Cheers for that, Meadish.

Same experience here in the states re. coffee preparation.

Best I've had is northern Spain around Santiago where folks still have the 'old-world' attitudes towards affairs of the palate.

What size did you order? If you wanted true you should've ordered a short. If you ordered anything else you are going to get more foam. You can easily get a true macchiato at Starbucks, just ask for it. What has become popular is a variation on the macchiato theme called a Caramel Macchiato. Same "stained" but with more milk and caramel to support the American sweet tooth. This is what the Baristas are used to making, however, any coffee drink "authentic" or "bastard" :o can be made at Starbucks by any Barista. Just ask if you don't see on the menu. :D

Hi guys,

Oops!! :o

I have never been to Southern California, but I do hope to go there some day. That story was part of the clipping I found about Macchiato... not my own experience. :D
