He does mean atypical.

Second Generation Antipsychotic Medications (SGAs) are a group of medications used to treat some psychiatric conditions. Some SGAs are FDA-approved for use in the treatment of schizophrenia, acute mania, bipolar disorder and bipolar mania and other mental illness conditions.

SGAs are also referred to as atypical antipsychotics. The term "atypical" refers to the fact that they generally do not cause the same degree of movement side effects that are common to the first generation, or so-called " typical" antipsychotics.

Clozapine (many brands) , olanzapine (Zyprex and also Olapin-10, a locally made generic equivalent), risperodol (imported and local brands), aripiprazole (Abilify - only the import) are all available here but not OTC.

They are Thai FDA Category S, require a prescription. In practice that often means that outside pharmacies won't carry them, although they can provided they meet certain requirements and keep mandatory records of sales. Most don't want to bother.

in either case, a visit to a Thai pysch is going to be necessary. Get/bring a medical certificate/doctor's letter with you from prior doctor stating your history and need for these drugs, it will help.

Cost will depend on the hospital and brand given. As you are concerned about cost, would suggest a government hospital, not only will the consultation cost very little but they will usually stock the locally made brands whereas a private hospital may have only the imports.

My wife will require a blood test and a two week prescription of Clozapine during a four week stay in Khon Kaen. The UK clinic will only supply enough for two weeks. Can someone point us in the direction of a clinic or hospital for us to organise this before we arrive.

Thanks for any guidance.
