Has anyone had a recent experience obtaining a B1 visa from the US Embassy here in Chiang Mai, specifically, how long the wait is for an appointment?

My employer has asked me to find out as they need someone to be there on the 24th of this month, so it may not even be possible.

Its a long shot at best but I would advise you to get with Star Visa first thing Monday morning they are just 100 meters from the US Consuluate. http://www.starvisa.net/en/contact.html

That will suffice for now, will inform the office and I'm sure they will be pleased. Last time I had an appointment in London it was 6-8 week wait.
