I will be taking my lady to Isaan tomorrow for her to attend to some family business in her home village, which is between Buriram and Surin.

I thought I would leave her to do what she needs to do and head out to watch the NZ vs England rugby, can anyone point me in the direction of an expat bar or pub which is likely to be showing the game in the afternoon, in either city?

Are you talking about Krasang?

If so, there is a small resort in Krasang run by a guy from New Zealand. There are often a few guys sitting there watching sport on the tele and having a few beers.

Let me know if you would like directions.

Puch, I was referring to Krasang, well actually a village outside in the boonies, but I am gutted because I didn't see your post until Sat evening.

Instead I tried my luck in Surin on Saturday afternoon and got absolutely no joy whatsoever.

I would however appreciate some more info on the Krasang venue as I like to get away from the village when I travel up.

Travelling from Buriram.

Turn left at "Raka" junction and traffic lights. Travel into Krasang and go under the arch. You will see Krasang police station on your right. At the next traffic lights turn right. You will pass Krasang Pittaykhom(high school) on your right. At the end of the road turn left. Go over the railway crossing. Turn left. Go straight and, the best way honest, go through the railway station car park. You will see the railway station on your left and you will head to the right. At the junction turn left. In the distance you will see Anuban Krasang School. Just before you get to it turn left. Follow the road and you will see the small resort on your right after about 500m.
