Dissolve Democrats, Ruangkrai urges EC
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Pheu Thai Party member and former senator Ruangkrai Leekitwattana spoke to Election Commission officials yesterday about his petition requesting for the EC to dissolve the Democrat Party.

He asked the EC to investigate and dissolve the party, alleging that Democrats' comments ahead of the February 2 election might have affected Pheu Thai Party's popularity. Such conduct is prohibited under the election law.

I agree, ban ALL the previous parties and ALL their executives/candidates/members for life . . . let's start afresh with some new blood :)

Ruangkrai Leekitwattana needs to spend some time in the army reconciliation centre to help him "get it". He seems to have missed the memo about not trying to cause friction in Thai society.

Reconciliation is the word of the moment not confrontation.

For those of us outside the country, who is taking odds on his call-up in a list very soon?

and the families, clones, maids, gardeners, cronies of the aforementioned executives/candidates/members

I just have to think that this has been totally misrepresented by the time it got past the sub editors. Surely someone is having a laugh? Democrat statements made Pheu' Thai lose popularity?

Either that or the man needs help

might have affected Pheu Thai Party's popularity

What was said ?

"might" well I might win lotto as I gamble my rent money away, hey it is legal cheesy.gif cheesy.gif

At least he's consistent. This is from 2 years ago ...

Former senator Ruangkrai Leekitwattana yesterday requested the Constitution Court dissolve six political parties and probe the work of two independent organisations related to the constitution amendment case.

The parties are Pheu Thai, the Democrats, Chart Thai Pattana, Bhum Jai Thai, Chart Pattana and Phalang Chon - and the two agencies are the Ombudsman and the Election Commission, because of their involvement in the charter amendment case.

Isn't this a perfect example of the fantasy world that Thai politicians live in ?

Wouldn't it be great, if both the Dems and PTP were to be dissolved, as punishment for their failure to negotiate a peaceful democratic compromise, even at the very end ? rolleyes.gif

Abhisit & Korn could try to put-together a better version of the Dems, without the history, that goes with them.

UDD could try to put-together a decent party, to represent the poor in the North & North-East, or even across the country, without it serving mainly the Shin-clan interests.

Then again, there would still be a lot of smaller regional/feudal parties remaining ... perhaps just dissolve the whole lot of them ? wink.png

This guy needs to get out more. A total idiot just looking for his 15 mins of fame

Wish we could do that in the USA. It would be nice to have a fresh start. In fact that might work around the world. Think what it would be like to have all new people in government around the world and new dialogue about everything. One can only wish.

The former senator won't be a member of Puea Thai Party for much longer as that party will soon be dissolved for changing the wording of the Amnesty Bill between the first and second reading and then sending a fraudulent/illegal bill to the Senate.

The EC have absolutely no power to do anything without the Junta's permission and the sooner all these idiots realise it the better they will be.
