Tourist Police arrest American man accused of sex with minors.

Pattaya’s Tourist Police Division received some disturbing news from the Mother of a 14 year old girl earlier this week where she claimed that an American man had taken the girl to his Condominium and engaged in sexual activities with her in exchange for cash. Details of the man were collected and an arrest warrant was obtained from Pattaya’s Provincial Courthouse.

On Tuesday Night, Police Lieutenant Colonel Wootishart, the Chief of Pattaya’s Tourist Police led the operation at the View Talay 2 Condominium Complex. On 18th Floor, Police arrested Mr. Michael Harold Sullivan aged 59 from Iowa, USA inside his room. Moments later there was a knock on the door and a 15 year old girl was met by officers. She explained that Mr. Sullivan had asked her to come to the room and he usually pays her between 1,500 and 2,000 Baht for sex.

Police also found a small quantity of marijuana and non-explicit pictures of other young girls inside the room. Mr. Sullivan was taken to the Tourist Police Station along with evidence including two laptops, the Marijuana and pictures. He was charged with having sex with a minor for money and will now appear in court in the next few days. Police also discovered that Mr. Sullivan had previous convictions for sex with minors back in the USA but was not wanted on any outstanding warrants.

As any American should know, a sex crime committed in any country by an American is a punishible to the fullest extent of the law in America. He can't say he wasn't warned as there are commercials about this in America and there are also warning signs posted in Pattaya. SJ is correct, they will want to have an extended talk with him. With a prior conviction (or even without), he will be looking at striped sunlight for a long time. Where do these people come from?

It would have been the height of irony if Michael H. Sullivan was a resident of Boston.

Then, he may very well haved faced Michael J. Sullivan, the U.S. Attorney there who has built up quite a reputation for vigorously prosecuting pedophiles with federal charges.
