Best hospital for getting permanent acne and skin discoloration treatment done in BKK

Hi Guys/Gals,

I am a 30 year old man, from Mumbai, India.

I have severe butt acne and skin discoloration on my legs. It is really bogging down my confidence and I am just not okay with it after suffering from it for more than a decade. It started when I hit 18-19 years.

After trying several doctors in Mumbai, and wasting so much money - I got nothing and my condition is still severe and helpless. It really bothers me. The doctors here in Mumbai are not interested in fixing the problem, in fact they just prescribe you some medication and they are done. Some say it is hormonal imbalance, some say it is oily food etc.

I am really hoping that BKK medical scene could make a difference to ease my suffering.

What are your opinions on my condition? What would you suggest me presently to start with?

Are there any good, reliable, knowledgeable doctors in BKK Clinics/Hospitals which I should try out? Please suggest me some starting point. I am willing to pay a visit to get myself checked up and then if all goes right, I can then plan for a treatment period as I will need to take time off from my Job.

Please note that I am not looking for skin whitening treatments, I am fine with my skin color and don't want to change it. Its just that my legs are excessively dark than the rest of my body and have many patches with irregular distribution. When I wear shorts, one could easily spot that how my legs are extremely darker than the rest of my body i.e. face, hands and torso. I look like a weirdo :(

I await your suggestions with many hopes.

Thanks,

Gaurav

For acne I struggled with this quite a bit in particular when coming to Thailand. The heat, humidity and other factors. Creams, topical medicines and antibiotics helped a bit but not to the extent I wished, and didn't seem a permanent solution

About 15 years ago, I went to Bumrungrad, saw Dr.Nussara and took a drug called Roaccutane. This improved things a lot and with lasting effect. I took for about 10 months. It is something that needs medical supervision to ensure you don't have adverse impacts. In the UK my case was not viewed as serious enough to warrant the treatment (and I expect cost). In Thailand I could go private and make my own educated choices. The potential adverse effects need understanding and monitoring. For me adverse side effects were minimal. Just had to be careful not to overdo vitamin A, avoid the sun, and cope with dry/cracking skin. The doctor was good at getting the dosage right to minimise impacts by tailoring to my body weight. In the UK they would give higher does but for shorter time.

For acne one other big piece of advice is diet. Regular doctors will often tell you there is no particular food to eat or avoid. That tends to be because 1) they are not trained nutritionists, and 2) their main solutions are just used to prescribe traditional drugs. I disagree with the opinion diet down't affect acne and inflammatory conditions

Remember a key factor in acne is inflammation. certain foods are more inflammatory than others. A big one is sugar. Cut out all refined sugar from your diet. eg no sugar in coffee, avoid biscuits, icecreams, snacks, junk food and food lables with sucrose, fructose etc. All these are high level refined sugar junk. I find a significant improvement in overall health and skin when cutting out refined sugar and processed foods. Natural sugar in fruit etc is fine for me, just stop adding the unneccessary refined junk stuff and avoid products with added (unecessary sugar), eg fruit juice look for no added sugar

Cheers
