Wireless keyboard issue

I have an old apple macbook pro and today purchased a wireless keyboard and mouse.

Everything works ok except ‘Ctrl’ C and V (i.e. copy and paste)

Do any techie heads know how to fix this? The arrow keys work ok and number pad.

What sort of a keyboard is it? If it's a Windows keyboard, try the "Windows" key, e.g. Windows-C and Windows-V.

On the Mac keyboard the shortcuts are CMD-C and CMD-V, not Ctrl-... ... Ctrl is different from CMD. CMD usually gets mapped to the windows key on windows keyboards.
