Colombia look set to name the same side which beat Greece 3-0, although influential midfielder Freddy Guarin is available again after missing out last time through injury.

Ivory Coast coach Sabri Lamouchi needs to decide whether or not to recall influential striker Didier Drogba to the starting line up, after the former Chelsea frontman came of the bench to help guide his team to victory against Japan in their opening fixture.

24 minutes in to the match, and both sides look pathetic. The fans are hissing their disproval.

at 42 minutes, i'm off to bed. Neither team can get out of 1st gear. I've seen high school teams play better.

Good game now actually with two very fast and powerful teams playing good football. Columbia just taken the lead 1-0.

A shout for the United referee Webb who is having a good game also. thumbsup.gif

Making my heart race now. Won't be able to sleep

-*I typed this myself*-

Same here; feel sorry for the African team... can't sleep and will watch Uru send the English back to their sad island... that will make my night.

If I were the Ivorian coach, I'd get the boys practicing shooting accurately. Many lightly-defended shots went far wide and high. They need to be reminded: the object of the game is to get the ball through the white rectangle. It's not enough just to power it in the general direction.

The Ivorian Football Federation have announced that Ibrahim Toure has passed away at the age of 28.

Toure was signed to Lebanese side, Al-Safa SC, but is most notably known as the brother of Premier League pair, Yaya toure and Kolo Toure.

The two brothers are currently in Brazil playing in the World Cup for the Ivory Coast, and were informed of their brother’s death just hours after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Colombia, leaving them in second place in group C.

The statement on the Ivorian Football Federation’s official website states: “The entire Ivorian delegation to Brazil supports them in this painful circumstance.”

The cause of death has not been confirmed, but it is known that the Al-safa striker was in Manchester on Thursday, when he passed away. It is thought that he may have been battling cancer.

Ivory Coast face Greece in their final game of the group stages on Tuesday, and could secure their qualification to the last-16 with as little as a draw, should Japan fail to beat Colombia.

Yaya Toure - who has performed brilliantly at Manchester City this season, scoring 20 goals and adding nine assists – wore the captain’s armband on Thursday, after Didier Drogba was placed on the bench, while Kolo Toure remained an unused substitute throughout the game.
